I'm sure that fine print is to protect them if the owner finds out later on that the dog is not purebred like they originally thought.
CKC is no a reputable registry. They don't have strict standards like the AKC. You can register any dog with the CKC. I believe all you have to do is send in a couple pictures of the dog and have two witnesses sign that it is purebred. We all know that a lot of mixes can appear to be purebred and a lot of purebreds can look like mixes. And you could have anyone sign as a witness. So who knows if a lot of those CKC registered dogs are really purebred. I'm sure there are some good CKC breeders out there, but because of their unstrict policies, it has become a haven for backyard breeders and puppymills. You won't see nearly as many AKC registered pups in petstores as you will CKC, ACA, APRI, APR, etc.. |
