New Treats!!! Well...I was at the supermarket yesterday and I usually buy Maximus the gerber graduates bite size green beans to give him as a snack..but I saw they had these new things called Graduates "mini fruit"... they are bite sized freeze dried cubes of apple or strawberry and bananna...I bought the apple and Maximus loves them!!!!...Plus they are small and dissolve in their mouth so no chance of choking, just thought I would share since it is sometimes such a problem finding treats small enough for him to be interested in...lol..I'm attaching the website so you can see what it looks like plus there is a coupon if you want to pick them up!!! http://www.gerber.com/toddlersite?tm...tml&tmspromo=2 |
Thanks for posting that. I think I might have to buy some considering Riley LOVES apples! Thanks again! :D |
Yeah, me too. I now have to cut up her dental sticks etc. After athe emergence vet visit with it stuck down her throat, Everything is cut up small! WHEW! Pat |

Great Idea.... but keep in mind dried fruit expands in the tummy when mixed with liquids so don't give too many. Terry Moxie's Mom |

Tell me about it Vainchick5, I've had my little guy for almost three weeks now and haven't had mani or pedi since. All my extra cash goes to stuff for my munchkin. But it's worth it! |
I have never seen those. I like giving my dogs the chicken sticks for a snack. |
I haven't tried giving Asia fruit yet, I may have to give that a try. As for spending all your extra money on the babies. I balanced my check book yesterday and I swear every other check said Petsmart on it. |
What is a safe age to start treats? Also does anyone have any suggestions on chew stuff? My baby is 4mo and the girl at Petsmart told me to get these small rawhide bones and he can almost chew the end off in about 5min. It is so scary. Any suggestions? He has lots of stuffed animals and balls but he needs some chew stuff. |
I buy PupCorn for my scotties...They love them. When we were trying to get Roxy to eat ANYthing we broke up a pupcorn and bam! She loves them too. I get them at pet smart. I break them up into about 6 or 7 pieces. She gets a big girl snack like the Scotties. lol |

**for chewing dingo makes a chicken jerky amd beef jerky...it takes thema while to chew on and it completely edible...Maximus loves them, also the bullwrinkles and Nutro sticks are good for chewing!!1 |
Do you give them raw baby carrots cut up (round or just diced?) Also what about fruit loops. He loves those. I broke one into 3 little pieces because I couldn't get him to come to me when I called and now he will come most of the time. |
I'm not sure about fruit loops...maybe someone else knows??..I cut the baby carrots in half or thirds and Maximus carries it away and chews them up...oh!..he also loves grape tomatoes because he can play with it..lol..he throws it and catches it and throws it again before finally eating it |
Thanks! I will try that. |
Thanks for the info. I love for them to try new snacks! I always feel like they are bored with the same food. |
Gerber treats Great idea! Thanks! |
I give Snoodles Denta Stix by Pedigree, cut up in small pieces--about a third of one. The Greenies I also cut up in thirds then cut up in little pieces. I will not take the chance of her having to be run to the ER again because she had something caught in her throat and couldn't breathe. She was very lucky to be still with us. As to fruit loops. I would definately say no. Dogs can't process sugar and it ruins their kidneys. Believe me, I know from first hand this is true as I lost a poodle to that when the kids were little and fed her sugar treats! Mine loves the liver treats aslo, but only one or two a day. Pat |
