IMO, a diaper wearing puppy indicates the puppy is not being properly housebroken. It indicates that the puppy owners would rather the puppy soil itself instead of the home. Please pardon me if I'm out of line, but a diaper wearing puppy is just sad.

If the puppy cannot be watched, a kennel is the way to go.

Our Bella is almost 6 months old and sometimes wears a diaper. She won't go in it and it has been our way to train her that when the diaper is off, she is to go......She has never gone in the diaper---probably feels different to her. We also wear it when we are at friends to ensure no accidents in an unfamiliar home. For us, it has been a very helpful potty-training tool. I am a stay at home mom, so it certainly isn't because I don't want to bother house training her. All pups are different, but our Bella has made significant strides in her potty training since wearing the diapers---no accidents in the diaper, no accidents on the carpet. :)

I'm glad it's worked out for you, but I fear this method is too easy to misuse by others, especially for young pups like the one pictured. The kennel is also the method most endorsed by professionals. Therefore, I stand by my statement, "When a puppy cannot be watched, a kennel is the way to go."

Sevengirl; I agree with you, Gracie has been house trined with wearing a diaper. She does not wear it all the time of course, but I also put it on her to get her used to wearing it for when she goes into heat. I cannot and will not put her in a crate for the full heat cycle.

Well the one pictured I am part owner to and I agree with altigger74 as to how she is handling thing. As a breeder you need all the help you can get and a diaper is a safe method. Kennel are also a great tool but professionals do not know everything, but you also need to have quality time to play with them and at the same time keep them from having accidents. The pictures that you were referring to was the quality time that we were spending with her and she was in her new home so that is when accidents happen. You NEVER put a new baby in a crate when you just get her and not have quality time with her. I hope in the future that you do not jump to an assumption on a picture. This is just my opinion.
