Registering Questions.... Ok.. I'm Very upset.. Due to the fact that Mi'Leighs Parents were not Registered AKC and they are Registered APRI.. I cannot Register her.. So i was looking up other ons that i can register her.. I know its not really important unless your going to breed. I seriously dout i will but i would like her to be registered some where.. So i Found the CKC (Continental Kennel Club).. I have seen many puppies in my area who are CKC Reg.. But i seen there is more then one.. Is this a good one? Any help would be wonderful Thanks |
Well... Im not to sure about CKC being reputable... However, my question is...can a person try to register a pup with a registry; if neither one of the parents belonged there? |

I don't know much abut any of this registering stuff.. I wasn't allowed to REg my Boxer when i got him cuz he was white and the breeder didn't want him to be registered so... Im lookin everything up and tring to learn.. im glad i got yall to help me out!! YT .. My New Life Saver!!! |
I've the parents aren't registered with AKC, neither can any litters they have. Unfortunately, there are no other worthwhile registries out there. The CKC has become a haven for backyard breeders, among the other registries out there. I honestly wouldn't waste my time registering her with CKC. If she's just a pet, it doesn't really matter anyway. It's just a piece of paper... |
I believe CKC will register any pup at all. Give them a call, or write them a letter and they'll send you all the info you need. |

If her parents are registered APRI, why can't you register her APRI? I personally think it is a pretty decent registry. They do require a 3 generation pedigree so most of the dogs registered with them were AKC to begin with. They have another division (APR) if the 3 generation pedigree is not available. In any case, congrats on your new baby! :aimeeyork :animal-pa |

I plan on Registering her APRI b/cuz her parents are.. I just never heard of it before.. Iv heard of AKC and CKC.. I wanted to know if CKC was a good registery because i do have the option to reg her there also.. So i dunno lol .. and thank you.. |
Both CKC and APRI are "alternative" registries that were formed when the AKC toughened their rules and started requiring DNA to prove that dogs they registered were purebred. Both are popular registries for backyard breeders and puppy mills. All they require for supposed proof of a dog being purebred is a photograph and someone (can be a friend or relative) stating that the dog is purebred. Both are considered "paper" registries because that's all you get for your money. I wouldn't waste my money if I were you. |
