Chorkie puppies? i just found out that a co-worker of a friend's yorkie is pregnant and the father is a chihuahua. this person is not a breeder and wasnt planning on breeding and im really not too sure what the whole story is but there are little chorkie pups on the way! apparantly the pups are due early february and would then be ready around may...which is just around the time i was thinking of adding a little sister to our family for dexter! now, again i dont know the whole story as it was kinda mentioned to me in passing, but i have sent my friend out to collect more info for me. but IN CASE the pups are not spoken for and i meet the "breeder" and all the other stuff...has anyone had experience with chorkies??? i know its hard to know what the personality would be since they are mutts, but does any one have pictures, information or own a chorkie?? any info would be great!!! thanks for reading :) |

i just did a search on google for pics of chorkies and my oh my, there are some cutie pies! they all do look diferent, like with any mixed breed. i have just never owned a chihuahua (my sister has one, but it doesnt have much of a personality :( ) and am not too sure what their temperment is like. oh my..im getting so excited and i still know NOTHING about these puppies or the person who is having them! i need to stop to save myself disapointment if it doesnt work out! look at this little picture i found though!!! sooo sweet... http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/images16...eDadChiMom.JPG |
Very cute! The one looks like a perfect 50/50 mix! My Chi's have the BEST personality. Very, very happy. (and hyper! LOL) But they get along well with my yorkies and everyone else. I love them! |
Do they shed? Chis do and Yorkies don't, so what happens with a mix? |

I don't know what happens as far as shedding, but I'd get a hold of the breeder, and see what input they could give you. The picture is adorable. |
My grandma has a yorkie/chihuahua/? mix.... she is adorable!!! She has the silky long dark yorkie coat, and she's very small. I have some pictures of her at home, i'll have to post em' up. |
I'd say as long as she's only selling them for a reasonable adoption fee then go for it. I would never buy a "designer dog" from someone who breeds them intentionally but I know accidents happen  And these puppies deserve a good home. Mixes are wonderful pets too. Who knows how they'll turn out so far as looks or if they'll be shedding, low shedding, or non-shedding. As long as you like chihuahuas and yorkies then you should like however the mix turns out. Hopefully this breeder will place these pups with a spay/neuter contract and use any money she makes to spay and neuter the mother and father! |

I'm pretty sure that Chip is a Yorhuahua, but he looks predominately yorkie. He was a rescue so its hard to definitely say if he is or not. From the ones I have seen there is a wide spectrum on their coloring, size, personality. In Chip's case he has the coloring of a yorkie, the shape and tail of a chihuahua, his hair doesn't get very long, and has minimal shedding. Chip is also on the larger side of yorkies being 15 lbs. |
