Look at this Biewer... |
Awww, he's so cute... :) |
its adorable..i wonder if it the girl or boy |
They are usually more. I see them in the $3,000 range all the time. I would really like to have one, but I would have to win the lottery first. hehe |
It is adorable but this makes me so mad. I was hoping Biewers would stay rare for awhile because now they are advertising Christmas puppies and teacups. The lines are already unprotected from any "breeder" who doesn't even know that there is no such thing as a teacup.:( |
Puppy mill. There are no tea-cups. And why is he selling it at 10 months--guess it is too big to breed. For $1500 I know of 2 beautiful 9 week old teapot biewers that will be about 9-10 fully grown. |

I believe the ad states the 10 month old is a female. Teacup is refering to the size, probably was held on to to see if she would grow big enough to breed. The puppy in the pic is 10 weeks. This isn't a puppymill. Probably shouldn't jump to that conclusion with out checking it out. As for price, the price varies around the country, and I am sure this one is going on a spay/neuter contract. Pet prices are usually quite a bit lower than show/ breed. I have seen prices vary on gorgeous Biewers from anywhere around 1500.00 to 5,000. Again, it is the breeder that sets the price. |

I've seen Teapot Yorkies and Teacup Yorkies both advertised by breeders. To me, they are both terms describing the fact that the Yorkie being sold is either under or over the "standard" weight set by AKC. |
I posted I thought but it disappeared. There are a few terms like Xmas special, teacup, throwing in another puppy in the middle of the ad that makes me question the breeder. I know "pets" go for different prices, but it just didn't sound like some guy just trying to place his puppy. JMO I didn't question the price, just the advertising terms and description. Wasn't trying to offend anyone.... |

I don't think the terms "teacup" or "teapot" are acceptable for marketing. I think the AKC standard is up to 7 pounds, so why would you need to use the word teacup? It can't mean below standard. That is the same as using "micro" and "tinies". There is no such thing and it makes innocent buyers think there is. If a dog is older and the breeder knows it will stay small, I prefer they just say it will be small. That seems like more of a description to me rather than trying to convince everyone that there is a such thing as a micro Yorkie. Teapot is just a word of endearment to me and I would never use it to advertise. I think it started when everyone started to like "teacups" better than other Yorkies. |
