Question? I was just wondering how much time should you spend a day with a new puppy. This is only the 3rd day with her she is doing great but I still feel like we should have her out more. Do you think its just what a puppy get used to? TIA |
bump! I know you guys are out there! lol:D |
How old is she? Just like any baby, she sleeps much of the time. Since you've only had her a few days, it's exhausting for her just to get used to her new world. If she's happy to snuggle in her special place for awhile, enjoy it while it lasts! A couple of months from now you will wish that sleepy baby would come back! What's your new baby's name? |
puppies need a lot of social contact with other people besides the usual people that they see around the house and stuff like that. So I would say take her places let other people (that you trust of course) hold her and play with her so she gets used to and learns to be social with other humans insted of timid when other humans she doesnt know come around. But dont overly tire her out or anything. However, you should be spending quite a lot of time of your day working with her and training her to learn how to go outside and go potty learning to sit and stay and stuff like that. Good luck with her she's very cute looking from what i can see in her picture! |

take her out where? I would love to see pictures. |
With Tessa we stayed home for the first few days so she could get used to the new house and where her stuff was. She spent most of the time sleeping in my arms or on my lap and I spent my time on YT! After a week she has adjusted very well and IMO is ready to go out and be shown off to everyone:D |
She is 9 weeks old. Her name is Blossom. I am sooo worried that I cannot give this little girl the attention she needs. I mean I have been depressed these last 3 days, I have made myself sick over her.I am in and out of the house alot all day long. And in February I am going to have to work in a dentist office for 6 weeks while a girl is out on maternity leave. How is this going to affect her? |
I am sorry that you feel depressed over her. Thats not what puppies are supposted to do :( they are supposted to make you happy :) . Yorkies are a handful, but if you take the time and patience to work with her for a while she will turn into a great companion. Is this your first dog or is this your first yorkie? What are the hours that you have to work at the dentist office? If you dont think that you will be able to come home to let her outside or anything get a doggy sitter or send her to a doggy daycare. |

Um first everything lol. First animal in the house and first yorkie. I will leave home at 6:40 because I drive a school bus and then not home until about 4:00 but we have a 1.5 lunch break. Im begining to wonder if my lifestyle is going to workout for a baby like this. You just really dont realize it until you are walking in the shoes huh. I want her to have the best home possible she is very sweet and cute. Do you think I should rehome her? Is that a terrible question to ask. I want her to be happy little girl. |
No its not a terrible question to ask...your thinking of her, thats a great thing to do! if you really are thinking of rehoming what part of the US are u in? |
Sounds like you will be working normal hours! There are alot of Yorkie owners out there who have to work to support the Yorkie addiction:eek: I think your little girl will be just fine. Coming home for lunch to let her out to pee would be a great idea if you can. Give her lots of attention when you get home at night and everything will be fine!:D |
the rehoming her question is not a bad question because just like what diggy4 said your thinking of her and whats best for her. However, I do think that you should be able to work and still keep your little girl. Just keep her in her kennel and leave some food and water for her and maybe a toy so that she can eat and be entertained while she is waiting for you to come let her out. And if you can let her out during lunch that would be good for her too. |
blossom is adorable and you are a very normal first time mommy! it is very overwhelming and you want to make sure you are doing everything right...she will be okay!! lot of people with furbabies work and can still love and take care of them!! :) do not be so hard on yourself...i am sure blossom knows you love her and are doing a great job!! :D  |
