At what age do you consider boarding your pet? my sister is very ill she has liver disease and we need to visit her soon. The doctor is said without a donor that there is no hope. unfortunately I am not a match. We want to go after Christmas but we are worried that the kennel will not take Sal since he is 8 weeks old. |
I'm so sorry about your sister:( All boarding facilities probably have different policies. One I know for sure is he will have to have all his puppy shots. Some may take him at any age. Just make sure they are willing to feed him 3-4 times a day. |
So sorry about your sister. Call around. I'm sure someone will take him. Just make sure he has had his shots. You don't want him getting sick too. |
Is your breeder close to you???? Maybe they would be willing to keep him while you are gone???? I am so sorry to hear about your sister.....Prayers for a donor match... Joyce |
I would never board my puppy until she had finished all of her vaccinations - at least 16 weeks. An 8 week old puppy is just too susceptible to infections. Maybe you can leave the puppy with the breeder until you get back. |
No one by me would take Elphaba until her last round of shots, which was just before 4 months. But she went to the kennel the first time the day after that last vet visit. Because she's so little they kept her in a special spot by the office at the kennel and spent the whole weekend cuddling and playing with her. |
sorry about yur sister I would not leave your puppy, I would take him or her with. If you are staying in a motel many allow pets nd that way you are close and he is not stressed, He will be more at home with you with him if only for short periods through out your visittake his kennel with , blankets and toys and he won't miss you as much as being left in a strange place with strange people:animal36 |
