Attitudes, Actions or Personalities??? Do you think Yorkies have Attitudes? Personalities? Or Actions??? I am a second time Yorkie owner previously having Yorkies about 15 years ago. Being forever reminded that these Yorkies do have personalities and/or Attitudes with my new little girl. Most other breeds seem to have actions but only Yorkies have such distinct Attitudes/Personalities!!! Enjoying her so much!!! |
I definitely think they have their own personalities. I have two and they are completely different. |
They absolutely have personalities. We are lucky enough to have a houseful and each one is unique and we love 'em all. Enjoy yours! |
Sully definitely is MR. PERSONALITY, that's for sure! :) But he gets an attitude with me sometimes....it's quite funny too. He can be quite the smarta** ;) But all in good fun, LOL! Sully often goes to work with me and sits in "his" drawer, which is perfectly sized for him. However, the other day, he climbed out of his drawer, on to my desk and sat on my scanner to see over my short-cubicle and observe all else going on in the office. But, the scanner is slick and he ends up just making a mess of papers, so I sent him back to his drawer: "Go to bed, Sully," I said. Well, Sully knows that when I say "go to bed", I immediately after tell him to lay down. And, he always obeys. But not this time. He REALLY wanted to stay on that scanner. So, when I told him to "go to bed, Sully," he layed straight down on that scanner, with his back legs awkwardly hanging off the side...and gave me those sad, puppy eyes. Way too cute.....but, he needed to mind his mother! Again, I pointed to his drawer only inches away and told him "go to BED!" Well, his eyes only got sadder and he even put his head down on the scanner, his body still awkwardly, diagonally sprawled over my slick-topped scanner for his little paws. I left him there...at least for a few minutes. Way too cute. NOBODY can tell me that's not his little personality shining thru, no way, no how. LOL!!!! |
Small dogs; HUGE personalities. |
Chewy is personality plus! He has no attitude at all but he is very naughty! |
Totally different personalities. Chester is a lovey and will fall asleep on your chest. Gracie is more independent and never looks like she is enjoying being loved on. She doesn't push you away, but she doesn't close her eyes, or anything. |
They do have an attitude and personality but I have to say that maltese are the very same way. Mia ( my yorkie) has such a sweet personality and she knows she is cute as a button. Bentley (my maltese) has an air about him that defines arrogance. He even appears to walk around with his little nose up in the air. |
I think that Yorkies have very unique attitudes and personalities. My two furbabies are VERY different. Riley is active and likes to play. He likes to snuggle with his mama once and awhile, usually at night. TJ on the other hand would snuggle all day if it was up to him. If he had his way, he would never leave my arms. He likes to play with Riley, but he would rather sleep on me. They also have different attitudes. Riley is very stubborn and TJ is the complete opposites. In my opinion, Yorkies are the breed of dog that is most like us. They all look different, and they all have different personalities and attitudes! :D |
Jeremiah is Mr. Personalities and Action Man. Jane has Ms. Attitude...She gets it from me... |
Maybe Sully just wanted to make a copy of his bottom. You never know what could happen when a dog gets a little crazy and there's a copier/scanner near by. ---- Personality yes, Attitude bigger yes. I love the way Reagan, and I'm sure all other yorkies as well, will walk around all proud with her shoulders back. Prancing around like hey I own the place now get me a treat. |
I can see the attitude in Keeley. The first time we were at the vet (only 2 days after we got him) she tried to hand him a treat and he pushed it away with his nose. She started laughing and told us "He has quite the personality!" And coming from a lady who sees dogs all day long, I took it as gospel truth. He is such a little booger, but that is part of his charm! I have never had another dog, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I sure do love how he acts. |
There are as many personalities and tudes as there are Yorkies. It makes me wonder what is going on when I see one with NO spunk and no glint in their Yorkie eyes. Anyone who calls my home has already been subjected to Skylar, my nanny, and her demands for my attention OR to tattle on one of the others. She will not stop til I guess what it is by her looks, the way she holds her ears and turns her head. I am thinking about renting a flock of sheep for her to herd. Gawsh, I do LOVE these babies so. They bring such happiness to my life even when I am in a lot of pain-they make me smile. Who could resist "that" look? |
I had Muffin for fourteen years and now I have Kacee. I can't wait to see the personality that Kacee will develop. We can already see some, but it takes time. When you've had a yorkie for many years they learn just about everything you say so that you can almost have a conversation. :D I think the cutest thing I remember about Muffin was when I'd say to her that she was a very pretty little girl and I had a particular way that I said it. She'd sit there and I swear she actually understood what I was saying. :p She had a sweetness about her that melted my heart. |
My little girl definitely has an attitude, and it's showing through already! I adopted her a week ago, but she's grown so attached already. I work from 8 to 5, and she gets on with everyone else in the house, but when I come home from work she let's me know she's upset that I left her all day. After she greets me rather enthusiastically, she spends the rest of the day giving me the cold shoulder (that is, until I take her out on a little trip to the park or to see some friends). She might be tinier than the average Yorkie, but she's got a big attitude! |
