toe biting Hi wonder if anyone has any tips as to what to do.My baby is 11 mths old and for the past 3 mths has been biting his toes.He has been vet checked three times and nothing is wrong with the toes except all this biting ends up causing red feet which get infected in time so he ends up with antibiotics.Which seems to cure the problem for a while but then within 1 month we re back to the problem again. The vet says its a habbit he s developed any ideas anybody? Which does sound right because if I stop him quick enough he does stop and they naurally dont become red. But I just dont know a solution I ve tried socks and he takes them off. Anybody else had the same problem? Barneys mom :animal36 |
He could be allergic to something - maybe grass. |
My Georgie is a wee bit obsessive about keeping his toes clean. He fusses with his feet a lot. Maybe clean his feet off for him when he comes inside, if he doesn't like them dirty then you'll be cleaning them for him and if he has a grass allergy the washing might help. |
He could be allergic to the carpet or something you use on the carpet or something you use to clean the kitchen floor, it really sounds like an allergy and not really a habit which I am not saying the vet is wrong. I just think it may be an allergy. My Otis was allergic to some puppy shampoo that I used on him and he scratched his butt and hind legs all the time, after switching to a shampoo that don't use any detergent it is all natural he is fine. |
