12 step drinking program? first off: I AM NOT A DRINKER period.....END OF STORY. second: i am in no way trying to excuse myself for spanking her.....i know that you should never hit anyone or anything for any reason and i have no excuse.....but adolescent behavior? all i do is work. i have NO friends other than the people i work and live with. and i am (like so many of you have been) new to this. I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH MY FEEDING HABBITS WITH HER, THAT IS WHY I CAME HERE FOR HELP AND OPINIONS. that doesnt sound like adolescent behavior to me......that sounds like someone trying to be an adult and ask questions about things that they dont know about. bashing people is no way of changing anything except their opinion of YOU. |
I have had my yorkie for almost a year now and I have found that they are very expensive dogs. If you just turned 21 and are about to go out on your own you may want to think about a few things before committing to keeping M.J. She needs to get to a vet asap, no questions about it, for a check up and to get on a monthly flea/tick repellent and a monthly heartworm preventative. This is going to cost you roughly $20 a month and it is absolutely necessary every month and meds from walmart and target are garbage, she needs a vet. Second there is grooming which some can do themselves, involving nail trimming and secreting the anal glands ( you can google it cause I don't want to get into detail about that). She also needs yearly shots. Can you possibly get a kennel / crate where she can go for refuge from the larger dog and keep food and water in there? Also you mentioned that there is a child in the house, please keep an eye on MJ around the child as yorkies are very fragile. As someone said already no human food please and a good quality food is going to be costly. It is only fair that you give her the best life possible and if you can't do it at this time its ok! There is no shame in rehoming her and there are lots of people on here that have links to yorkie rescue sites where you can turn her in and she will go to a home after they have been thoroughly screened. If you really like the breed than research them for a while get out on your own and buy one from a reputable breeder with a health guarantee. I think taking her in like you did as admirable and so far you have done the best you can. I know giving her up would be SO hard cause she is a doll! But it might be the best thing for both of you as it sounds like you can''t afford her right now. Just be fair to MJ. |
Yes just try different canned foods untill you find one she likes. Another thing you can do is boil a chicken breast shred it up and serve with rice. However once you start homecooking for them it is hard to get them to go back to dog food. Best of luck |

Tim - Lately there have been a lot of 'new' people signing onto YT and causing trouble. If you are legit, then we want to help you and MJ. You have to understand that your posts are just not the 'norm' of what we see on here, and with all the scamers and such, everyone is just on guard. Now, like we have been saying, please bring MJ to the Vet. She need health care. Also, she probably does have a family that is missing her, she please get her scanned for a possible micro chip. I know that I would be beyond heart broken if I was missing a Yorkie. If no one claims her, than PLEASE consider contacting a Yorkie Rescue - You may care for her, but financially you can not provide for her. Please do whats best for MJ. |

i am going to continue to post my questions on this site....despite the negative responses i have received. i value each and every opinion....good or bad.... i just think you could be a little nicer......being that i AM trying to help this dog and i DO care, otherwise i could just let her starve to death or tie her to a box in some corner of a building such as "orphan annie" was. i will keep those of you whom want to know about my situation informed of what happens when i take her to the vet on Tues. again. sorry to have angered so many of you.....but i feel asking is the only way to LEARN. and ACTING is the only way to ACHIEVE. |

Usually, you don't find a yorkie puppy bouncing on the side of the road. And if you actually did happen to find this puppy, that probably means that someone lost her. Did you check around, see any missing dog posters? Yorkies or any animal can be a big responsibility and very expensive. If you do not have alot of money then taking her to a rescue or re-homeing to someone with money might just be the best option right now. Oh, and get her to the vet asap!! Hope this helps, not trying to be mean, just realistic. |

It merely takes logic to do the right thing...your user name says it all, excuse you work, feeding taco bell, you have 8 roomates, you dont know the proper feed, thinks she may have worms, this has been going on for months, only leads me to believe you are here to bait and create havoc! Tell me would you feed a infant taco bell?? would you hit an infant? would you NOT take an infant to the Dr if she wasnt acting or eating well? LOGIC! |
oh no poor baby ,please take her to the vet and as far as giving her some water to drink if you can afford a baby gate please gate her in your room so she can eat when she wants and drink when she wants and put a wee wee pad in there so she can go potty .when you are not home .i feed my babys chicken soup for the dog lovers soul you can google it and find where they sell it thats the only kind of dog food my babys love and you can buy some good can dog food and mix it and slowly ween her off the can food ,and please do not spank her again . |
Again~ I ASKED ADMIN TO CLOSE THIS THREAD, LET'S ALL S T O P FEEDING INTO THIS AND POST NO MORE!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbdown |

logic to me suggests that i should do everything in my power to help....and if i cant then i would rehouse her. wow. i expected some construstive critisism, but nothing like this. what about my name? do you know what it means? no. mary jane, what does that say? that i like spider-man, because that is what she is named from. her whole name is Mary Jane Watson. judge not.............i am trying gain a higher understanding about this so that i can take care of her. i know that she should have been to the vet, and i hate that i have yet been able to afford it. she has NOT had problems before maybe five days or so ago....except for the not playing with me and what not. |
 i agree because this is making me sick... |
