Can you believe it?! So I'm looking up things that I'm going to need before I bring home my new puppy and I just happened to fall upon this website. All seemed well until I read the section about nighttime. "...put a towel over the front of the crate so the puppy can't see you, clap your hands and firmly say NO! If he still insists on crying, than take a heavy object (hammer, club, baseball bat, combat boot or my personal favorite a cast iron skillet) and slam the top of the cage with it and firmly say NO!! This loud noise and vibration will instill the word "NO" into your puppy's memory..." Is it just me, or does this seem TERRIBLE!!! That isn't training your puppy, its scaring it to death!  |
 :thumbdown I cringed just reading that! I barely say "no" to mine!!!! (in a normal voice!) LOL |

uggghh! that sounds horrible!! I agree maybe when trying to get them to stop some things with the banging of a metal spoon on a pan once or twive to get their attention. But that sounds horrid. I feel for their puppies :( |
OMG! that is terrible!!!--- Belle cried the first nite... then after that she didn't...and now she sleeps on the bed with me  |
pups And people wonder why their new puppy is afraid of thunder, the vaccum or any loud noises..! |

Oh wow! I just kept reading to see what else this person had to say and they said to make sure you have a flyswatter with you at all times to hit the puppy with it if he is doing something wrong! This person claims to be a renowned breeder?!? |
How awful! Would you mind posting the link to the website? I may just have to send them a note! |

There's a good way to have a dog that's petrified for life with some serious behavioral issues.... :thumbdown "Use a flyswatter on the dog..." What is wrong with these people!? I got a place in mind for their flyswatters! |
