Mommies with Stinky Furbabies..... there is hope!!! I found the most wonderful thing ever. My Maggie is a stinky, you give her a bath and 2 days later, she stinks. The little Miss Attitude likes to explore the backyard and loves loves to get into trouble. Well we went shopping this pass weekend and found the "Sharper Image Ionic Bath Pet Brush" http://www.sharperimage.com/us/en/ca.../sku__SI888YEL It works :coolsmile :coolsmile , I brush Maggie before bedtime and she is fresh again. |
I seen those at our local pet store last week, they were showing a video on it, There were alot more expensive there, You got a good deal:) Im thinking about getting one:) |
I have a similar one "as seen on tv" ion brush. I never knew they had one by sharper image. I have the sharper image ionic breeze air filter, but not the brush. Thanks for sharing with us, I gotta have one :) |
Very cool! Does Maggie have a cotton coat? I'm wondering because Morgan has a cotton coat and gets greasy and stinky after a few days. I would like to get this brush if it would help. |
oh i need to get one!! Ms.tumi gets into everything and she is a stinky butt after 2 days!! good price also! thanks!! |
That looks like it would work really well. Maybe after the holidays I can get one. |
Conner is "stinky" right after he gets home from the groomer. I let him out of the car and the first thing he does is roll in the grass (he would roll in the mud if there were any). I'll get one after Christmas. |

Winston has discover the lifting the leg thing and boy, he stinks. The brush works really well, I just wipe him with a damp cloth and then brush him, the smell comes out. Those of you with boys know how much it stinks. Both my husband and I are so happy with this brush. |
has anyone used it on a cottony coat? i'd love to know if it works same as a poster said before me... |
I have one of these, but never thought about using it on the little yorkies. Worked great on my retriever....guess I should dig it out! |
wow that is great...does it make much noise? Bella is a scaredybutt |
Wow~ and I thought Max was the only stinky boy after a few days! I feel a little better now, LOL. Wish there was a way to make them smell like baby shampoo all the time though, haha. I know...asking too much. Thanks for posting this; I'm going to have to get one as soon as I can! |
Hmm, now that I have 3 babies I think I better invest in this:D Thanks for the heads up! |
has anyone tried the "as seen on tv" one? |

i went to sharper image two days ago, it is quiet when you turn it on... i want to give it a try...belle stinks after she goes outside if it is humid... and i live in fl so it's pretty much always humid =/ |
lol...neat...Mikayla stinks all the time. Sophie used to... |
No Noise If you put the brush at your ear, you'll hear a very light humming noise. Winston and Maggie really don't mind it at all. I love this brush, it is the best thing ever. It turns stinky pups to fresh pups. I actually got a baby powder perfume from Petsmart and use a drop after I brush them. Winston's and Maggie's hair is silky so I don't know how it will work on cotton hair. I think it will be fine. |
wow! looks great, I have 3 stinkies that also need a bath lol Mine do good, but about the 7th day, they are getting really stinky lol |
Not to be the bummer here BUT I believe in trying to find as many consumer reviews as possible before purchasing something. I just found this one on epinions.com regarding this brush...... This is not my personal opinion - it was a review on a website. Just wanted to see if those of you who actually have this brush agree or not. After seeing the various ads for the Sharper Image Ionic Pet Brush I had to have one! I even ordered one out for a friend at the same time through Amazon.com. Shipment was very fast and the transaction went extremely well. I purchased the Sharper Image brand of the "ionic" brushes as it was the most expensive. Priced at $39.95, it had to be the best one! It promptly arrived well packaged and it seems to be of a good sturdy construction. The required 9 volt battery was not included. Luckily, I did happen to have the proper size of battery already. The brush operates silently and there is no vibration. There is no air movement or any indication of operation other than a flashing green LED near the switch. The ads had led me to believe that the brush was a static electricity generator which would help collect fur. The brush is supposed to be switched on and the pet is to be stroked with the brush for 2 to 5 minutes at a time. The pet odor is supposed to be eliminated from the animal's coat along with receiving a grooming with the brush. The two brush attachments easily slide on and off for cleaning and can be washed in warm water with soap. The manufacturer suggests that the brush be stroked on the animal in a sideways manner to avoid detaching the brush from the handle. The Ionic Pet Brush comes in two sizes for both large and small pets. The large size, which I purchased, is huge. The brush is a bit awkward to use. I switched the unit on and almost immediately could smell a strong odor of ozone. Ozone is very harmful to the upper respiratory tract, skin and eyes even in low concentrations and should be avoided. Had I known it was an ozone generator I never would have made the purchase. (It is my opinion as a physician that these devices should not be on the market.) Even if the unit had not been an ozone generator, the two brushes included are just about useless for brushing a dog. The bristle brush attachment is too soft and does not penetrate the fur. The plastic bristle attachment is too stiff and widely spaced to be of use on any of the shorter haired breeds. Conclusion: Save your time and money. Don't buy one. |
