Does anybody know Does anybody know why some yorkies' ears are floppy and others are perked up? As you can see on my avitar boobah's are floppy. Gina's are perked up. comments? |
I've got no idea, sorry. Milo's were perked up, but after his op, wearing the cone and getting his ear infection they are floppy. Y don't know whether they will go up again; I don't mind either way. (But my mum says he's far more beautiful with floppu ears, so she's happy they are down again) |
Sometimes they stand up on their own, but sometimes they need a little help. Most of the time, all it takes to make them stand up is trimming the hair on the tips of the ears, or taping them. Did you ever try doing that with Boobah? |
Sometimes it's because of teething, or the fact that they have to much hair on their ears. How old is your baby? |
ears There are several reasons..most being genetic. If you use flop earred dogs for breeding, it will come down through the genes. If you see the parents and both have ears up, it is still no guarantee the ears will be up..prehaps one grandparent has flop ears..it will show up some time and some point.,,but if both parents ears are up, most pups will be with proper care...some ears go up with no help and that is the way it is...some ears stay down and will not go up with all the help in the world... Trimming heavy puppy hair off helps in the beginning...after the cartiledge is damaged most stay down...that happens after months of not trimming... |
