Help! I need to know how much aggression is "normal". I just got a Morkie (Fudge) to help keep our Teddy company when we are away. Ever since the first second he's been in our house though, all he does is growl at Teddy whenever he comes near. If Teddy gets too close, then Fudge will snap right in his face, and he's even bitten his ear so far. We leave them together in the pen during the day, but sometimes when they are in the pen while we're home we'll hear a dogfight break out. Lots of snarling, barking, biting sounds, etc. So is this normal to a degree right away? If not, that would really stink, because we got him largely to help keep Teddy company more than anything. Teddy is alone so much that we figured he needed somebody to be with since humans aren't around much. I appreciate any feedback here. |
How old is Fudge? It will take them awhile to adjust to each other, right now Fudge is letting Teddy know he wants to be the dominate one. You have to step in and take over before it gets out of hand, you have to let them BOTH know YOU are the pack leader! By the way, welcome to YT!!!!!! We would love to see some pics of your furkids! |
Is Fudge a young pup?? If so that would be very unusual? How old is Teddy? When I introduce a new dog I always arrange the first meeting out of doors and it is therefore neutral territory. This must be very upsetting for you. |

:yeahthat: right now both are trying to be the dominant one but you have to let them know they're both in second place because your the TOP DOG ;) Welcome to YT!!!! |
Definetly let them know that you are the alpha. You don't want it to get out of hand, and have someone getting hurt. |
