Gee V, perhaps you could come to CT and cheer little Brady on? He seems to miss the pad every single time. |

I can't imagine living in an apt. and having to deal with this issue. My dogs have always gone potty outside in the grass but I know tons of people use pee pads. I really like the idea of having a balcony they can go out on. Since they are used to going "out" to potty, they could let you know they need to go out on the balcony. Then you would have the pee pads out there. As for safety issues, a piece of plexiglass on the inside part of the railings would not be noticeable and would protect them from going through the rails or getting stuck. Good luck!! I tried pee pads the first week of so with Tatum just because I read about them on here but ultimately decided to go with the outside thing. My sister had a dog in an apt. where she was on the third floor. This was in Dallas and I hated the idea of her taking that pooch out during the night or early morning by herself. She says she got lots of exercise doing the stairs and carried pepper spray with her when she went out. I think the balcony idea is better if you don't have luck inside the apartment. |
Sounds like you're on to something!! Good luck with the pee pad training. :) |
Yay congrats :D Rosi sometimes does not hold it during the night, she refuses to go on Apollos pad...so she chooses the kitchen throw rug  but cant correct her as i never catch her  |
Yeah V! So good to hear you having fun! All my pups use a rag rug in my bathroom, I keep several and change them as needed. It's so funny in the morning, they practically wait in line when I go to the potty for their turn. Then it's off to the kitchen for morning treats. I haven't had to train a pup in awhile, the new ones seem to learn from the others. The treats don't hurt either. At night, we go through the same routine, but instead of treats they get to sleep on the bed. Until the pups learn to use the rug before bedtime we don't allow them up. All are trained now. Titus learned in about a week and Phoebe just took to it immediately. Isn't it funny how excited we can got over our babies bodily functions? |
:cheer: :cheer: YAY! Chanel and/or Cheri!! I hope you continue to have success! Oh, we beat you temperature wise this morning ;) It was 25 degrees here with a nice frost. Can't believe it's suppose to go up to 70 this afternoon. |
WHOO....HOO....GO SPY GIRLS!!!!! I am sure they will catch on quick. I am happy to hear the news. I would love to see your cheer you did :p :p Sending you HUGS!! I also have a pee-pad out on my patio that they can get to from the doggie door on those mornings when the grass is wet. Miss Mia does not like to get all cold and wet - hee, hee! :p |
Maybe the celebration should be saved for the SECOND time someone uses the pee pad...hope this time wasn't an accident. Ok, I take that back....;) |
V, I wanna see you cheer:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Way to go girls, which ever one it was teach the other how to and give mommy something to be happy about. She promises you she won't do the cheer thing again. Right V? That's a good idea to teach them to use the pee-pad for the future. They will miss their yard I"m sure but being allowed to pee indoors just might make up for it.:D It's a true blessing when you don't have to jump out of a warm bed, get dressed, chase the darn dog around the house to put on a sweater and leash, put on boots, coat, ear muffs and gloves at 6:00 am and go out in the freezing snow and pick up poop!:( Good luck with the re-training V, sounds like their getting the idea. |
Yay! WTG Spy Girls! |
