I hope your pups don't react to Ruebens like my hubby! We have a practice called 'last bites' and if our pups 'mind their manners' while we eat, they each get a tiny bite of something (if what we're eating isn't pup friendly we scramble an egg). They learn pretty quick. With the 2 new pups (never had 2 at once before, fun and hectic) it's proving to be a little harder training them to this. Especially Phoebe. Anyway, hubby made brown rice and chicken for dinner and I sat aside a bite of chicken for each pup. I dole out according to age, old man Bear is always first. While I was giving him his bite Phoebe decided she didn't want to wait, she's next to last, and jumped from the floor right into my plate! Food went everywhere but she held her ground and gobbled up what little was left in my plate before I even knew what was happening. She had rice all in her fur, and you know how that stuff sticks when it starts getting cold. I sat her on the floor to get a bath ready, when I came back to get her she was getting a community bath, all the other pups were around her eating the rice out of her fur! I guess they were gonna get that 'last bite' no matter where it came from. |
LOL! That's hilarious! But hey, at least they shared. :D |
When hubby got home last night, he went to make himself a sandwich and said, "Good Lord, what happened to all the bread!?" I just pointed at the 3 and said, "Why don't you ask them!" So he looked at me like I was nuts, then looked at them and said, "What happened to all the bread?" Then he just looked at me, grinned and said, "They got your food, didn't they?" He surveys the fridge for a second, looks at me and says, "You made a ruben. They got your ruben!":eyebrow2: Me thinks he has been a victim before... Ah well, I made another one, he ate his sandwich on white bread, there were no upset tummies and most importantly, I seem to be in good company...there seem to be quite a few theives out there!:mtongue: |
Oh those little stinkers!! Reece is my thief...you cant trust him for the world!! Dawn |

Milo doesn't stop at a sandwich... he wants everything. Yesterday, when I changed the rubbish bag I accidentally left the bin open, and Milo just jumped inside, on the hope of finding the chicken leftovers he had been smelling. Unfortunaltely for him, I had just changed the bag, sol he couldn't get anything. |

No, you think that is bad. One day we were having a BBQ outside and there was no more room at the table so I sat on a chair and was trying to eat my ribs. Well I set my plate down to take a sip and when I reached down like 20 secs later no rib   I look under my chair and Toby is struggling to carry this one rib in his mouth, let alone eat it. now that's a bad boy!! |
awww . . . I bet they wished it would happen more often. |
aww they justed wanted a taste of mommy sandwich and then once they tasted it they wanted it all. |
So the fact that you left a Ruben sandwich out even for 3 seconds, tells me you must have been groggy and not thinking clearly. Even IIII would have stolen it. The only problem is WHAT IS A RUBEN SANDWICH?:p |

Corned beef, swiss cheese, a bit of mayo, rye bred, cooked in a skillet until crispy. (Most people put kraut and mustard on too, but I don't like those.) 3 seconds is pushing it...I opened the door for someone and stepped aside while they walked out, never even left the room. Now if I'd left the room, all bets would be off...but they have NEVER been that bold before with me 10 feet away and within sight! |
Zoey tries to fish things off the table right in front of me. She isnt even sneaky. Luckily she has short arms. She just swipes air most of the time. My husband tells me that Zoey doesnt have arms...Im still not convinced! |

Brats!!!!!!!!! So are they having any tummy issues today>? |
That is too funny. When Grizzley was alive he would not eat unless I or the roomie would set with him and we would have our dinner to. Now he did not like people food. The roomie thought she would ignore him and Well you know what happened...He would bark.. 1st to let her know that she was needed and then he would scratch her arm. I would always tell her to acknowledge him and when she neglected...THERE he was right in the middle of her plate!!!! I for ONE would always give him attention ! He never ended up in my plate!!! To this day that is one memory that can bring me and her to laughter on a daily basis.Gotta luv these guys and gals!! Mary |
