Crazy Hello everyone I think i'm going crazy my dog barks uncontrollably at anything or nothing I am just wondering if anyone else out there is having this problem or has had this problem I don't want to resort to the barking collars unless I have to or I hear good things about them. So what I'm asking is, is there anything I can try to help him or do you guys have any advice on the barking collars Thank you in advance Jessica and Cooper |
DONT USE BARKING COLLARS!!!!THEY ARE CRUEL!!!!!!!your baby's just trying to tll u something. dont punish her/him 4 that???!!!???!!!:thumbdown |
My pom is the most annoying barker. SHe just stands there and barks for no reason, she'e been fed, has water, been out had treats. SHe is 10 1/2 years old and I have never been able to control it. Now she has Pixie barking with her. I don't have any suggestions as nothing has worked for me. |
How old is your dog? I'm preparing myself for my 5 month old to become a wild barking teenager. This is suppose to happen around 6 to 9 months. |
I solved the barking problem "during the night" by keeping the curtains shut in my bedroom, and having ocean sounds playing on my sound machine. Believe me, Maggie :aimeeyork sleeps like a rock through the night now. :dogzzz: During the day if they bark and I don't want to hear it, I just touch their neck and say "shush", firmly. It's working for us. Good Luck, Kathy, Maggie:aimeeyork & Bailey:aimeeyork |
Cooper is 9 months old I don't want to use the collars, I just want him to stop barking I try to talk loudly and say no barking but he just looks at me and then goes back to barking |
:) I hold up a spray bottle with water and they immediately stop as they hate to be sprayed. I never say anything as I am doing this and they know what it means. I give them a dirty look as I do this. It has worked for my yorkies so far-----anything could change though!:aimeeyork |
I tought my baby how to be quiet on command. When he would bark I said shh be quiet and once he was quiet I gave him treats. I repeated that a couple of times and it worked. I also heard if you take coca cola or pepsi metal empty can and put pennies in it and shake it when they bark they stop because they get scared of the sound. |
Try putting some coins in a tin can...pop can or altoid tin. When your dog barks, shake the can and say, "No Bark!" Mine immediately stop barking, and if I'm somewhere where I don't have a can handy, I just say, "Do you want me to get the can?" LOL..it works! Try it! |
We use a spray bottle. You only have to actually spray them once or twice. After that, you just pick it up, and the barking stops!! |
Change in a can works for me |
Ellie is the same way. Nothing works. Pennies in a can, spary bottle... I resorted to a citronella collar (NOT an electric collar). They have good reviews and there is no pain involved. One of her "problems" is with the broom. She barks at it uncontrollably. I put the collar on her and she evidently thought the broom was spraying her because she just got more out of control. So, that is the only kind of "barking collar" I would ever try but it didn't work for us. Please never use an electronic collar on your dog. |
