Carrier? Can anyone recommend a good dog carrier? I'm looking for one that I can take Chloe with me everywhere. My sweetie is not a small yorkie. She only weighs around 6 pounds but she is very long and skinny. |
I don't have one, but I often drool over Celltei carriers:http://www.celltei.com/ |
I agree...drool..drool! |
Sigh.....someday... The reason I like them so much is the all the time they spent designing them to really go the extra mile. Even the less expensive pak-o-pets have the water bottle feature, and most of them have a little pocket inside them you can either put a warm pack in during cold weather, or a cold pack in during summer...who knew dog carriers had climate control??? |
I have 2 celltei's that were gifts and they are both the small size. They are great Carriers. Most of the time I take both Cali and Pixie with so I am getting (I hope) for Christmas the Petflys wings carrier in a medium. The Celltei's are great for taking everywhere no one knows you have a dog in them. |
I like my petflys! they are great, and double as car seats for them! |
Those are really nice bags and you really can't tell they hold a little baby inside. I'm seriously considering one of these for when I get my puppy (nope, not yet). Here's a question: if you're using one of these for traveling in an airplane, do you buy a slightly larger one so the baby can have more room to move, or do you buy the one that will fit best? |
My Yorkies are on the bigger side of the scale. We have a Vera Bradley Carrier (absolutely LOVE it) and also a Sherpa carrier (which hubby will use because it is NOT girly). The Vera one comes in some great patterns. You can go to the verabradley website and see them (and they have them on ebay also). |
I have a Celltei and a Coach. The Celltei is much more practical as the Coach is pretty big for every day carrying around. |
Anyone have an opinion on Petego USB Carrier and Teafco carriers? |
I purchased my crate through a Foster and Smith catalog. Since then I have seen some nice crates and carry alls on PetEdge.com I have several carriers and a stroller for my Yorkie. In addition to a regular crate, I have a "pocketbook", a tapestery covered crate for special occasions, and a "suitcase" on wheels. |
carrier I also have a Vera Bradley carrier . They are so nice, secure with a big outside pocket . I got it on ebay with the matching collar and leash for 35.00It also has a very soft bed inside. They are beautiful !! |
I have two Teafco carriers and love them both. I have the small Argo Aero for airplane travel. Piper loves that one best..if I leave it out she actually goes into it and curls up like it is a little safe nest. It's really nice because it can set up two ways. One way gives them less height, but more space to lay down. Then you can flip it the other way to give them a bit more room to stand up in. I do wish it came with a longer strap, but I just substituted a strong luggage strap that was adjustable and it worked perfectly because it is held by very sturdy metal clips. Piper is 4.5 pounds and she fits very nicely in it. I also have the small Peek-a-boo as well for going out and about. It is great because it has a nice wide hole for her head and a nice little adjustable connector for her harness. The only thing I don't like about it is that there are no pockets to put things in (like keys). I didn't think that would be a big deal, but the carrier is a little bulky and to lug along a purse is a bit much. It's a really well-made carrier and Piper seems to actually like being in that as well. It's roomy..less like a purse and more like it's made for a dog. One really nice feature is that both are padded and the base padding is secured with really strong velcro and are easy to wipe down. Makes it really quick to remove and clean out if your puppy ever makes a mess. Both of them feel very well made and the colors are fun. If you are looking for something that doesn't look like a dog carrier, the Peek a Boo isn't the choice for you. It'd be tough to pretend you didn't have your wee one along because it's so darned easy for them to pop their heads up to say hi! Fortunately I live in Seattle and it's really dog-friendly here, so that wasn't a worry for me. :-) |
Also a big fan of the Vera Bradley carriers. I took Gracie on all my Christmas shopping trips and she was so good--she actually loves her carrier--the "bed" at the bottom is so comfy. Only 1 small child in the mall noticed I had a dog in there! |
have you tested your baby in a carrier yet? I would at least try a few before I purchased an expensive one. After purchasing a few off eBay, i found out Slade HATES carriers! So I'm glad I didn't invest in an expensive one, before finding that out. |
