New Puppy Questions Hi I will getting my puppy this sunday and she is being flown .. once I get her home what should I watch for? I am more worried about low blood sugar. I am going to take off of work for 3 days to get her used to her now home.. She is 12 1/2 weeks she weighs 2 lbs.. do i need to give her anything to make sure her sugar is ok... like honey ? I just am concerned about the flight upsetting her... effecting her.. Any advice I would appreciate.. Thanks... this waiting for my new arrival is as bad as waiting to go in labor.. Heee.. hee.. |
I would have some nutrical on hand just in case she becomes hypoglycemic (or karo syrup would be fine too). As long as she is eating okay..at least a little ever so often throughout the day, her blood glucose levels should be fine. If she isn't eating and starts to look hypoglycemic then you can rub a little nutrical or karo on her gums...but then it's important you get the puppy to actually eat something too. Eating is the best thing to keep blood glucose levels normal...nutrical should only be given if needed |
I'd keep some Nutrical on hand, but don't give it to her unless she's not eating. |
Breeder has given her honey would that be fine ??? |
Congraulations:d |
Just make sure that you provide your new pup with a very calm environment while it adjusts...no fun outings at first or comotion in the home or lots of visitors. Monitor the pup closely to make sure that it is getting plenty of rest and eating well in several intervals throughout the day. As long as you can do this, Nutrical/honey won't be needed.:) Congrats on your new addition! |
Congrats on the new baby, and just love the pieces out of her!!!!! Of course that will not take any effort:D |
Congratulations on your new baby, can't wait to see the pictures, any more concerns you can always do a search in any part of yt and almost get a answer for everything:D  |
