Electric toothbrush Do any of you use electric toothbrush to brush your baby's teeth? I was thinking of using my Sonicare on them because it comes with extra replacement heads, but I'm scared it might get their teeth sensitive and numb. I think an electric toothbrush would work better because it strokes faster than your hands so you will only need half the time to brush their teeth. I would like some inputs... Thanks! |
We asked the vet about this. She is into the whole dentistry thing... She said it is fine if Ellie will tolerate it. Ellie doesn't tolerate it AT ALL. Nice thought but didn't work for us. |

I think the buzz would bother mine! and specking of brushing...do they ever sit still and let you brush? I'm hoping! |
hmmm. I don't know , but I think if the vet says it is okay, then I would try it. I might try that on my little one. I think it is a good idea, if they will tolerate it... |
i think it would be great.. and much easier! but i dont think Avery would like it to much.. ill have to try it sometime. |
I have never tried it with mine. I dont think they would like the buzzing sound |
Please ask your own vets though... Ellie has periodontal disease, so every little bit of effort to keep her teeth clean helps. She wiggles so bad that I get all scratched up. It is horrible. |
i could probably brush mika's teeth with one, she just sits there and lets me do it. i feel bad bothering her though lol |
good idea! i am gonig to try it on lacey since now i cant use tooth paste on her, at least that would get more faster. |

I will always be comfortable using them on any of my dogs but you know how it goes. There are hundreds of thousands of vets in this world and they do not all agree. I don't want to get any of you in trouble with your own vet or be responsible if something goes wrong.:p |
haha. yeah. i know what you mean. 'ask ur vet':) but mostly just use ur own judgment. ;) |
I DO!! I just bought the cheap little $10 one at Wal-Mart with one vibrating head. Makes teethie time so much easier! |
Yeah, I should ask my vet lol. It was worth a try last night. My girl went crazy just hearing the buzzing noise! Even with a regular toothbrush, she won't allow me to go near her. |
I have a spinning toothbrush for lacy (battery powered). I found it at Petco so it's actually for a dog. I've never seen it anywhere but Petco. It was only like $6 and came with a replacement head. I thought that was a deal considering human ones are like $20! Lacy does okay with it...she's never liked her teeth brushed but she does just as well with this spinning one as a regular toothbrush |

are the bristles softer than the 'human' one? is the head the same size or smaller? just curious..:) ;) |

Here is the toothbrush I have http://www.petco.com/product/100598/...-for-Dogs.aspx It's on sale right now! The bristles aren't super soft but they aren't hard either...in between i guess |
thanks.;) i have the sonic one.. so i think ill compare the two and see. but at such a great price might as well get another. haha. |
My guys would be scared to death. Good luck with yours. |
