Marking ME!!!
 

:aimeeyork Ok.... this is a new one on me. I've had dogs of one kind or another most of my adult life. Jasper is my first yorkie. We're having a few problems with him marking... which I do understand is hard to break. I keep belly bands on him most of the time, and that helps somewhat. However............. let me tell you what just happened! I had just finished a nice relaxing comb session on him and hadn't yet put his belly band back on. He jumped down off the ottoman I was using to comb him on, and started playing with Peanut (our other dog). I turned around and logged onto the computer. In a matter of minutes, I smelled pee.... :confused: I looked around to see where Jasper had gone, and noticed him slinking under the futon nearby. I pushed the keyboard in to look under the computer desk, to see where he might've lifted his leg this time. Imagine MY horror and SURPRISE :eek: to find out it was ME he marked!!! He must've lifted his leg on MY leg and sprinkled both my stockings and my lower pant leg! I couldn't believe it!! Grrrrrr... :2omg:

I'm hoping this behavior will diminish after he's neutered?? Dec 6th can't come soon enough!

When you were grooming you were the alpha... this was his way of saying...no you aren't... I am! You have to make sure that you let him no you are the alpha dog... he should have been in serious doggy trouble... hold him down w/ his head against the floor and growl real low and manly in his ear.... so he knows in dog terms you are the TOP dog!

Oh yes... he knew he was in trouble. Hubby admonished him sternly, put his nose against my wet stockings telling him "NO pee pee on Mama!" and took him outside immediately.

Question - Hubby is the stronger disciplinarian and is much better at training than I am, so I usually let him take the lead and I give support. In retrospect, perhaps I should've been the one to be stern with Jasper since it was ME he pee'd on?

LOL Alphy does this to me sometimes. hee hee When we got out and we are waiting on Abby to do her thing... I've looked down and noticed Alphy lifting his leg on the toe of my shoe. :eek:

Yes, I think you should have been the one to punish. Your hubby taught him that he is alpha but you let the little guy know that he is still above you. It is very important that he knows where his place is...under you and your hubby, not in between.

Aw, it's cute but gross I know! You're his mommy!!!

Aww, you are all his. I know it's not funny,but I had to laugh as Bruiser has done that before.
