Neutering WON'T affect the coat.! |
It will not affect the coat's quality . All my puppies are spayed or neutered before leaving my home . As adult , they have superb coats . |

I found this. http://www.petplanet.co.uk/petplanet.../neuterdog.htm There are some disadvantages in having your bitch neutered. An older neutered bitch may become, to some degree, incontinent. This may only happen when the bitch is asleep. There is treatment available which can reduce this and even stop this from occurring. A spayed bitch can also have a change in coat growth. Some of the hairier breeds can have excess hair over the hindquarters and the smooth coated breeds can develop bald patches. The other problem that can occur is weight gain, with some breeds being more susceptible than others. Once neutered try and cut out the treats, and increase the amount of exercise once the bitch has been given the all clear by the vet. also here.... http://www.biltonvets.co.uk/Advice_Neutering.htm Other problems can be hair coat change (mainly male dogs, and often the Spaniel breeds) and sometimes personality change (often for the better!). Hope that helps |
I have also heard of this but I have never saw it happen. |
Have always had mine spayed/neutered, never changed the coats..Between my mom, brother, 2 sisters and nephews/nieces, my kids, we have over 40 dogs..all of them except for 2 that my nephew breeds, have been spayed/neutered..not once have any of their coats changed and I would rather have a coat change a bit(which I still question) rather than to have them end up with cancer because I didn't get them spayed/neutered |

It doesn't affect the coat. |
I just wish all counties/states were set up like it was here..where you only have to pay $45 to have the dogs spayed/neutered. It doesn't go by your income, and it really helps people out...this also pays for the anesthesia. |
I live in neighboring Pickens County and we don't have the same opportunity. Do you have to be a resident of Oconee County?:( |
