Crate Beds What do you guys use as a "cushion" for your dog's crate? Right now I have a really soft blanket for Tucker, but I want to get him a nice crate pad/bed to go in there. He loves microfiber and faux suede (he's taken over my couch throw pillows :) ). The problem I've ran into is most crate pads are not the correct size for the crate I have. I inherited the crate from my mom and it is 18x22. Most of the beds that I've seen are either 13x18 or 18x24. Plus I'm afraid it may not be soft or thick enough. Looking for any suggestions. I'd also be very interested if any of our fellow YT'ers make them. Thanks! |
I bought a foam pad for a twin bed and cut it to the right shape for our crates. One of those that is like egg crates, but they have all sorts of different designs. Then I got a few fleece blankets from Walgreens real cheap and wrapped them around the foam. They are just the right size and are nice and squishy. I know my dogs like to really sink into what they are laying on. |
I sewed one and stuffed it with cluster stuff. |
I saw a product that you can cut into shape as well. I'm not sure the name of it, but the above post is a great idea. Good luck! |
I buy the plush crate beds from petedge.com they have a wide selection. |
If you have a sewing machine it would be really easy for you to make your own. I'd be glad to help you out. |
I make them as well. PM me if you're interrested :) |
I bought a foam pad for a twin bed also a sewed a covering on it once.. When they scratched it up and foam went every place...mine never got foam again...lol But it works well:D |
