Yorkie Coloring I have a question regarding my yorkies coloring. Are you able to tell what color they will be when they are young. I have a 7 month old yorkie who is black on his body, tan on his legs and whiskers and beard, but, mostly silver on top of his head. Will the silver part eventually turn tan, or will it remain silver? Can you tell now or do you just have to wait and see?? Thanks in advance. Karen and Scruffy |
I think you have to wait and see. Yorkies continuously change colors the first few yerars, at least with my experience. Yoda's even changing colors a bit now (he's 2.5 years old) and getting lighter (more blonde) the past few months. |
Yorkies can change colors till they are 3 years old. Bobo was b lack and gold with silver on top and it is now turning gold. |
Bell was basically black with the tan face, paws, and belly. Shes now basically silver and very light tan and shes not even two yet. I wish there was a way to tell because the next one I get I would love to have a balck and tan. |
Sometimes when they're changing from black to tan it tends to look a fading greyish color...but keep checking the roots, it will give u an idea of what's to come. Like kindness said, it might take years for a yorkie to be with his definitive colors! |
