My puppy Lindsey is beating up my 1-year old Bailey Yes you heard me right and I didn't get them confused...Its my 4 month old Lindsey beating up my 14 month old Bailey :( She runs around and chases him just to BITE him and all Bailey does is CRYSSSS he is NEVERR mean back (he is too sweet to be mean) she will try to jump on him and bite whatever she can get his ear, leg, paw, just whatever....so sometimes I got to pick Bailey up just to give him peace of mind and sometimes Bailey just crys and crys and crys until I pick him up......Anyone experienced this?? Oh and you know what Lindsey will do she will lay down like she is not going to do a THING and then will Bailey comes close to her she will ATTACK him and try to bite  Is this normal for her being that she is just a puppy...I hope she grows out of this because its getting to the point where they can be on the floor for about 5 mins then....Bailey is off running all over the house trying to get away from her biteing him...Does anyone have any comments or suggestions about this behavior...Does Lindsey just want to play?? But thats no "PLAY" whenever Bailey squills when she bites him..:( |

Grayson humped abby everywhere her head her side it was funny but that his way of saying I'm the boss. Have you thought of squirting her with water? |
I'm sorry you're having this problem. I'd put her in time out everytime she tried to bite him. I would want to stop this behavior as soon as possible. |
Based on how my dogs have been and I have 5 Yorkies I have always let them work it out. Our Mandy would hide from Krissy when Krissy was a puppy. Krissy bite in playing. After Mandy had Chelsey EVERYONE would hide or run! Chelsey was a very aggressive player and would bite, jump and attack all the others. Now Chelsey is almost two and is 4.3 lbs and is alpha over the other six dogs including a 14 lb male Yorkie. Teddy would cower when Chelsey attacked him. He would whine and cry. After Chelsey figured he won't play or fight she gave up - it took awhile. They are great buddies now. They all get along great as long as Chelsey is first for everything. She is quite the Diva ;) Your Lindsey may just be a alpha type and they will work it out....... |

When I got Pixie she was 13 months and I had CAli who was 18 months. Pixie almost a year later still beats up on Cali. Just like you were saying. She puls her leg out from under her, grabs her by her hair bow, gets her in the corner and Cali just outs up with it. As long as neither are getting hurt I let them work it out. |
I know exactly what you're going through! When we brought Abigail home (two years ago, Dec 1st), my Mozart (maltese/shih-tzu/silky mix) was 11 y/o. We so worried about how he would 'take' to Abigail, or if we would be protecting her all the time! He weighs about 25lbs, and has been the only furchild in this house his entire life! Well, she was 8wks and 2.2lbs of determination! She would pounce on him and poke him in the face w/her little front paws. We watched them closely, as we were sure Mo wasn't going to put up with this for very long! He would hide out in the bedroom just to find peace. I kept waiting for him to discipline her; but, guess what...? Two years later, Abigail is definitely the alpha female here. Unless Bailey is really getting hurt, you just have to let them work things out. It's a pack thing, and nothing we do to interfere is going to change the order they set up. We've even been accused of fussing at Mo for (at some point) getting too rough with her, and that being the reason he won't now. But, that is NOT the case! lol We've never had to scold him because of her...because he just will NOT do anything remotely rough to her! At two years, she still tries to goad him into play; but, I know now that much of her behaviors toward him are sheer dominance. If she's in my lap, she does not want him even walking into the room. She will growl, jump down, and *bump* him with her bum. He'll just stand there until she's done, and then mozey on through. Matters not if I scold her. And, he is the sweeeeeetest guy ever. I wish he would take her in hand! She needs her comeuppance! Anyway, whatever status they are establishing, Bailey will have to find his own spot. |
