Maximus jumped in my landlords pool!!! Well yesterday I went to go pay my rent and my landlords where in their inground pool...so of course they asked me to bring Maximus around..so I brought him with me in the back and then the wife got out and asked to hold him...I siad yes but DON'T put him down becasue I don't know how he will react with the pool...so the husband was sitting by the pool..I gave him the money and turn around just as Maximus is jumping into the pool...the deep end, he started to swim..but to be honest I don't know if he can because I jumped in...fully clothed (still in work clothes) to grab him...I don't understand how a grown woman can completely disregard what I just said!!!!! She then had the nerve to say her daughter would love to babysit him one night (she is 7)...and she still screams when she sees me walking Maximus and he goes to lick her???? I said I don't think so....I don't let him sleepover random peoples house and he would be too easily hurt..Maximus was getting cold...I was cold...and instead of apologizing they were asking me about babysitting???...they couldn't even watch him for .3 seconds??? Okay I vented!!!! |
Thank goodness your landlord is NOT the one with the Yorkie. Obviously the lack of responsibility, maturity, respect for you requests, and over all stupidity eliminates any qualifications for them to own such a precious breed. (wow, that was real mean of me to say now wasn't it??) |
OMG - What a good thing you were right there ! Some people just don't get it - they probably thought it was funny and don't realize he's your CHILD...just like they have theirs - I love yorkie people - they ALL understand how upsetting this would be - average people really don't ....I'm so glad you were right there to play lifeguard !! Way to go Mom ! |

Villette, I couldn't agree more: "I love yorkie people - they ALL understand how upsetting this would be - average people really don't ....I'm so glad you were right there to play lifeguard !! Way to go Mom" SO true!!! Heart-hugs all around ~ Louise |
 Hope their 7 year old is a good swimmer!! You are absolutely right in not "loaning" Maximus out for them to have a trial run!! |

Samantha, I am so glad that you were there to save Maximus! I can't believe your landlord and his wife couldn't watch Maximus for a second and now they want one! That's just scary!! |
WHAT IDIOTS!!!!!!! I mean the landlord and his wife. It was good that you saw that incident for a coupla reasons-one is you rescued your baby and the other is you found out what kind of careless people and would NEVER let them sit with your baby..What fools they are. I hope they cannot find a breeder who will sell to them, but sounds like they will not be careful in their selection process. |
I am so glad that Maximus is okay...I am constantly amazed on how stupid people can be and then think that they are always right!!! Thank goodness you were right there to save him....way to go!!! |
Its a good thing you were there. its not really that they weren't as careful as they should have been that gets me really mad its other things. like her daughter would like to babysit him one night. i'm sure they would be there but still....... they can't even listen to directions not to put him down. i don't want to say i hope theyd on't get one because really not everyone knows how to care for tehm. if they do end up getting one just try keeping an eye on them and teach them as they go along. because of this thread i wouldn't recomend recommending (sp?) them this site. lol. anyway its great that you were there for maximus!!(i do think that it was very irresponisble for them to do that though) |
Wow, Maximus is a brave little stinker!! Thank goodness you were right there!!!!!! Didn't they react to him being in the pool. You would think one of them might have considered also jumping in to grab him. I would say he is not safe staying there. ( He would be safe at my house though. hehe) |
They all kind of thought it was funny that he jumped it...like look, but they really didn't have time to react because i was in the water .... I would never allow them to watch Maximus..even before this incident..to me anyone that allows there children to ring someones doorbell at 9:30 at night asking to see their dog is just rude and have thought their kids no discipline..it has gotten to the point where I won't answer and the little girl has gotten the point!!! They think their 2 girls can do no wrong, and I plainly told them that they can't have a dog from my breeder because she won't sell to a house with children under 12..they have 2 (one is 6 the other is almost 2)...and that is due to their frailness...one runs away from MAXIMUS screaming...which really sets him off because he thinks it's play and chase time...and the baby thinks that she is allowed to try and kick him...I never bring Maximus over there..but when I pay rent the mother INSISTS that I bring him and so I don't bring him on lease or harness so that way I can just hold him....well after this disaster, I will have my bf pay the rent from now on because they don't have the nerve to ask him!!! Oh!!!!...Maximus would love to come to your house and play with Lily... |
Maximus  the nerve of some people! He could have drowned for all they knew. Ugh!! |
OK I WOULD HAVE THROWN HER IN THE POOL! What is wrong with people? Do they think you're just being ridiculous or something by making a small request such as "DON'T PUT HIM DOWN"????? Sam I'm glad you were there to save him. i asked my vet about chlorine, because I want Coco to swim in the pool. He said occasionally if they get some water in their mouth it might cause slight stomach problems such as diarhea but it goes away. So don't worry he probably got some in his mouth as he jumped in because of your landlords, idiot wife...now my rant is over! |
That is just totally irresponsible. I can't believe they had the nerve to ask if their 7 year old could watch your baby when their not even compedent enough to watch the baby for a few seconds. I have a built in pool and I always carry her past it. I'd die if she fell in. |
