Thank you Lacy's mommy. One of my mom's friend who had many yorkies told me that I need to use a soft bush. She didn't like it at all. How do I make her like it? | I've found that a comb really leaves the hair smooth and gets any little tangles out. I always suggest that even if you normally use a brush, to go back over the hair afterwards with a fine-toothed comb. I've used a comb with Lacy (silky coat) and my parent's yorkie, Rylie (cottony coat) and they both look nice. I also only use a comb on my Persian cats - I just use one with a little more space between the teeth as their hair is SO thick and the one I use on Lacy pulls more hair out.
So far as getting them to like it - I've never had a problem with Lacy disliking being combed. Rylie isn't too fond of it. I just try to make it pleasant - brush regularly so tangles & matts don't develop and cause pulling. You could give a couple treats while combing and afterwards. She should eventually get used to it. |
