Solid Gold brand makes a good soft puppy treat. If you are using treats for training you may want to get a roll of natural balance soft dog food as the pups think it is treats, but it is good for them too. My boys also like string cheese and cottage cheese (but only a little bit). |
i use milkbones. buti dont buy the hard bones. i buy the big container(not that big) of BBQ milkbones they r soft and are easy to rip apart for training. also the smell isnt that bad! :D |
I use Cheerios! Someone had a thread up about that. They are small and most little dogs adore them, either the plain or the honey nut according to taste. Of course I have other treats, but the cheerios work well for training and if you're out and about. Kids love to give Lida a cheerio! Windy and Lida Rose |
If you have a hubby or kids that love to dish out the treats - make it something small. They are so little, I try to tell the kids (and hub) to multiply the treat x 40 as to what they would eat. They treat-ed the pups until they wouldn't eat their food. (my 3 men are 200#plus). |
Cheerios are my choice of treats, when the girls were very small, I halved them. I use honey nut because I think a little honey is good for them. I also use a little, peeled slice apple and little green beans. I try to stay with just one type for a week and then change. |
