how much do you pay to board your yorkies? this is a subject that definitely matters for us, because we end up having to board for 30 to 40 days total a year, so it gets expensive after a while. the vet place close to us does it for 12 dollars a day though so it's not too bad. there are definitely expensive places out there that cost 30 or 40 a day, which i think is crazy! when you board as much as us, it adds up quick, and i'm hoping that 12 a day sounds good. what do you pay? |

money 12 is soooo cheap. Is it clean? Are they loved on? Sometimes at some vet office they are just stuck in cages like sick animals and not loved on. We have paid 50 a day... but we get a pigs ear a day... a couple of long walks.. and open play time w/ other dogs... for our lab. I would hate to have to board Chloe... she would be traumatised! I ask my dog loving neighbor to care for her for 2 day here and there.... but mostly I am home or I have to load up allllll kids..... alllll dogs.... allll cats.... allll rabbits... alllll various other animals my kids bring home. Wish they would come up w/ a hybrid giant suv because hauling this zoo around can get expensive...lol |
boarding costs We have had our Yorkie with a "furbaby sitter". She loves animals, does the doggie day care in her home and we paid $25.00 per day. It was really great, she has 3 furbabies herself and may watch several others at the same time. It was good for Lily because she got to play with the others - she only keeps the little ones so no worry about being around BIG scary creatures. I have inquired with some of the kennels, vets, and groomers that advertise boarding and found that they leave the animals at the close of business and someone checks on them sometime in the middle of the night but basically are left alone in cages. Not what I want for my baby. |
I don't board, if they can't go with me then I try and get out of going. But if I have to go and leave them they go to my Daughter's |

Elphaba is going for the first time this weekend...but its $18 for overnight (rather than x amount per day). So I'm dropping her at 8am tomorrow, picking her up at 5pm on Sunday - and thats $18. |
It's about $14 at our vet and they walk them a couple times a day plus our two dogs can stay in the same kennel- though it's not quite like doggy day care- everyone knows who I am when I call and always falls all over Roo and Pumpkin (and knows them by name etc!). It's great I love them! |
we pay $14 dollars a day, and we do go away at Xmas for 10 days and then at Easter for 10 days. |
We SELDOM board our dogs. It's been a couple of years since we had to and it's only $5/day per dog. We do it at our groomers. |
ewwww you are lucky. I am boarding my baby during Thanksgiving and it cost $40 a day.... It is her daycare and it is "cageless" doggie sleepover. Workers loves my baby and she gets to play with other small dogs during a day. But I will look into the dog sitter.... it sounds good.... |

It is $27 or $37 (a suite with TV). It is the Pet Hotel by Petsmart. It is a very CLEAN place. I went to check out a few boarding hotels before I decide to go with Petsmart. They are clean..not like other places that leave poops behind and look dark and dirty!!! They have people there 24/7 to check on your pets, walk around and check every hour (I love this idea!) They take your furbabies out few times for play time and potty. At the end of every stay, they give you a "Paw-report" and let you know how the stay went! I highly recommend it. Also, there is a Bone Booth too...you could call during business hour and talk to your baby! (haha....I called once and they brought Chloe over to the phone. She didn't talk to me, but they told me when Chloe heard the word "Mommy"..her ears move...hehe) |
