What is this for behavior? I have observed Bandit my Pomeranian licking Scooby's eyes and cleaning the drainage around his eyes, I find it gross, but I am wondering what is the reason he is doing this? |
I don't know but my Jo-Jo cleans Riley's face every morning and at bedtime. I always joke that Jo is a good Mom to Riley but they're both boys! |
That is so sweet one takes care of the other. |
Diezel does this to Dior EVERYDAY. I honestly do not like it because her hair gets sooo tangled and she hates having her hair done and her face brushed. But i deal with it:) I have no choice:D |
OKAY so SHHHHHH...don't let Mia hear me tell you this but she licks Murphy's........ (well you know :embar:) all the time. I think it is so gross but I can not seem to get her to stop and I catch her and tell her NO. :p Murphy just sits there like MOM what are you doing???? :eek: :eek: I will not even tell you what her daddy says to her - :p :p |
1 Attachment(s) Cassie (my shih tzu) washes Adie's face every chance she gets. She does that to Ivan (the gsd) too. She was an adult when both of the others were brought into the house and has scolded them for not sitting still. I am sure it is part of her mothering them. Since she was a puppy mill rescue I hate to think what might have been in store for her if they intended to use her for breeding. She would have gone through so much emotional pain as well as the physical. Anyway, I think it is a mothering instinct. |

yorkie / maltese grooming ea. other Well really just my boy Casper... he grooms my female Chloe. He takes her hair a section at a time.... gets it in his mouth and pulls it through... like his teeth are a comb. She lets him... but I hate it.... her hair gets stinky and sticky! She looks like bride of frankenstein if I let him to at it! |

WOW, well then he is not a freak, I thought he as some kinda of freak as I shout for him to stop and he just continues soon as I turn my back:rolleyes: . My male Sam grooms both of the girls several times a day. He gives the what we call "swirlies" on their faces. The girls just sit there and let him groom them. Sam has groomed the little one (Isis) ever since the Mom (Sophie) would allow him to be near the puppy. Its really kind of sweet. |
Mindy has taken over mothering Bear too. He gets his eyes cleaned everyday and yes I even catch her cleaning his privates. EWWWWWWWWWW Like I said in another post. Thank God I am not a dog. |
