Measuring your Yorkie I was just wondering how you all take your Yorkie's measurements (ie. for clothes fitting, etc.)? Do you include all their hair, or just their body? For example, Mocha's chest is about 9 inches if it is just his body...but if I included his hair, his chest would be about 11 inches. What is the right way to measure them? |
You want to measure around to where you're measuring a snug fit...not too tight and not too loose. Neck - around the neck where the collar would be chest - around the chest right behind the front legs. If your dog has a lot of hair, don't smash it down too much...you don't want the clothes to be too tight. But don't measure too loosely either. length - from where the collar would be to the base of the tail. Your dog needs to be standing for this to get the right measurement(sitting or laying down can add length to the measurement) |
1 Attachment(s) Here is a diagram that shows how to measure your dog. The tape measure should be snug. |
Thanks so much to the both you, that really helps :D |
