Need advice for Sibling rivalry! I need help!! I have a 5 yr old yorkie, and her 3 yr old sister. Had them since they were 10 weeks old. Maggie, 5 yr old has been attacking Bailey, 3 yr old. Maggie weighs 10#s, Bailey weighs 4 #s. It started out about a year ago over toys, then treats, so I took away the toys and treats. Recently Maggie just goes after Bailey for no apparent reason and has been drawing blood. I'm at my wits end. My husband passed away 6 months ago, and I know she misses him, but she's always been my baby. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Kathy |
Condolences to you and your family... I'm not sure, but I hear that two females in one household tend to be territorial and act bitchy, no pun intended. But I'm sure your husband's passing might have had a bit of an effect on their behaviours. I hope they behave for you! Maybe they need a brother?! LOL |
I'm so sorry about your husband:( Sometimes the bigger ones will pick on the little ones, Teddy sometimes tried to pick on London but she sticks up for herself. I used to tell him no and hold him for a while. They rarely fight now. Good luck! |
Pixie the newest and smallest always picks on Cali who is a very laid back girl. Pixie gets her up against the wall and pulls her back leg out and will bite her face. I try taking Cali out of the situation and she runs right back. Just this past week Pixie has gotten more aggressive so I I told my dtr and husband any time they see Pixie bothering Cali to tell her no and pick her up. I hope like you that this isn't going to escalate. It was ok when they seemed to be playing but Pixie is getting too carried away now. |
