I just dont know what to do
 

I take little Henry outside 4 or 5 times after he eats everyday (same time every day 2:30) but he will never go! And yet every single morning I come down to take him and hes gone in his crate! :mad:

its getting so frustrating and its really scary (and cold!) taking him out at night.

any advice????? :confused:

How old is he...can you paper train him...is there to much room in his crate.,

I got one that did that but found out he had worms, no worms no more going in his crate...

hes about 4 months his crate is a little larger but it has a divider in it but he keeps kicking his waste onto the other side.

I will have to get him checked by our vet the woman we got him from had him checked but I dont really know if I can trust her vet or not. :(

He's still too young to hold it all night. I put a pee pad in the back of my puppies crate, and they used it.

Boy, I hate to be negative, and maybe my dog is the exception, but mine is almost 3 yeras old and I have to take her out at 11 before I go to sleep, my dh works nights, so he takes her out at 1 am before he leaves, and then back out again about 5 am. If we dont do this she has an accident. I do think she would sleep through the 1 am time and doesnt have to go out then (though she always goes), but if we dont take her out then, she will wake at about 3 or 4 and I will have to take her out. Even on the weekend, I cant sleep in ever. It must be the breed, not just little dogs, because I have a 7 Yorkie mix and an 8 lb Maltese and both of them can go from 10 at night till 7 or 8 the next morning without accidents. I have gotten used to going outside in the dark and all kinds of weather, even though I hate it. One night there were two coyotes outside which scared all of us half to death, but otherwise I am braver than I ever thought I would be. Its amazing what we will do for these dogs.

Just like people, I guess all puppies/dogs are different. Tucker will be 16 weeks on Saturday and he holds his pee all night. We take him at 11 pm before we go to bed and then he barks around 6-6:15 am ready to go potty (and then play like a wild man).

Since you are attempting to take him outside and he doesn't go potty, but does inside, it sounds like he just hasn't figured out that outside is the correct place to do his business. It defintely helps to get in a routine so they know to expect you to take them and what worked for me was buying some really high quality treats that Tucker only gets after he goes outside to potty. He's learned this, so now sometimes he'll go potty, get a good treat and then 10 minutes later, he'll want to go out again (because he wants more treats!). If he manages to squeeze out some more pee, I give him another treat cause I"m a pushover :) We also praise him like crazy - I clap and make a huge deal after he goes potty outside. He trots around, so proud of himself when we do this. On the other hand, when he had some accidents I didn't yell or anything, but I did talk in a deep voice and let him know that was not ok and then took him outside to show him the correct place to go - but given this is only effective if you catch them in the act.

I know this probably wont' work with everyone, but just letting you know what worked for me! Hope this helps!
