I found some sunscreen for dogs: http://www.furlongspetsupply.com/dog_sunscreen.htm But as far as for us... here is an excerpt from an article: "Brand names mentioned by Ihrke as being safe for use on pets include Johnson & Johnson's Waterbabies, Bullfrog waterproof and EltaBlock waterproof. The benefit of waterproof products, says Ihrke, is that they're also dog-saliva-proof" Here is the link if you would like to read the whole thing... its a really great article... I am going to get some of pet-safe protection for Tino and Bunny's ears... they say in this article that skin cancer usually hits them around 4yrs of age.... Enjoy! http://www.ajc.com/news/content/shar...s/qa/1011.html |

For those of you who put sunscreen on your dogs...how do you do it? I was thinking about putting some of the WaterBabies in a spray bottle with some water mixed in to make it more sprayable and to spritz her with it all over. Will that work? |
Another 4th tip...If you live in a neighborhood where people light off their own fireworks and it freightens your dog, try giving them a treat with yeast in it earlier in the day. Something about yeast soothes the nerves of these little guys, it is sort of like doggie valium and so it could help. It sure helps Bruce when we travel or he is going to have to be in a loud or overwhelming place. |
