Shipping Doggies How does one go about shipping yorkies? I am in Atlanta and I am not sure what companies will provide this service. Also, I noticed some yorkie breeders say they do not ship. What reason is there for not shipping? Is it under scary/dangerous/stressful conditions? Would it be any different if it were an adult dogs? I am asking because I am considering thinking sending my 2 and 3 year old dogs to California and I was wondering about the shipping option and I have no experience with this whatsoever. Thank you, Joanne |
Hi, Im in Atlanta also. I wouldn't prefer to ship a dog, thats just me. Are you wanting to know which airlines will ship? |
As a breeder, i would never ship from georgia to California. just too long a flight. heck, I escorted one of mine to Los Angeles in feb rather than ship her and I am escorting another one to nebraska in a few weeks. is that an option for you? You could ask them to provide you with a round trip ticket and take them in the cabin with you. |
Frontier Airlines My husband works as a ramp service agent for Frontier Airlines here in STL. He says that dogs are regularly transported in the aircraft in the cargo-hold, but in a separate section from regular baggage. He says all the employees take extra special care of animals and they are in a heated/airconditioned part of the cargo-hold. He has also unloaded animals that are arriving at their destination and says they look perfectly fine. Frontier has rules that they all have to have food and water and be check by their vet before flying. |
Mine flew in to Atlanta, and I believe it was on Delta..They have a separate place for cargo(a couple miles up from the a.p). Mine had flown from Germany(think it was a 9 hour flight), then to PA..A couple weeks later I got him, he flew from PA to ATL. Everything went really smooth..I know the lady I just got mine from was in MI. then she flew one of her others from MI to CA a couple weeks ago..he did fine..You just want to make sure the temps are right... |
