Biewer? I am probably being totally ignorant... but I have seen this word several times on here... what is a Biewer? |
You will get way better answers that mine but... Biewers (pronounced beaver) are a breed similar to our American Parti yorkies that were developed in Germany. If you do a search, you will come up with tons of info and pictures. I think they are just gorgeous! YT also has a sister site- BiewerTalk. ETA- you aren't ignorant at all- most of us have learned about them here. :) |
If you go into the nursery, you can see several threads on Biewers in the nursery. Also, if you do a search you will see many threads, that talk about the Biewers. There is also history and information on my website below. |
3 Attachment(s) Hi, we all have many things to learn and to learn about Biewers can be very exciting. They are a dog with German yorkie origins. Most Biewers in the US were either imported or their parents were imported. Also most are still being registered in Germany, but there are clubs popping up that are starting their own registries. There are several clubs in the US that are devoted to the Biewer. Below are a couple of my dogs and here is a link to my web site. www.heavensentbiewers.com There is a link on my website to the IBC in Germany, which is one of the clubs in Germany that registers Biewers. They have put some of the information in English to make is easier for us that don't know any German |
adorable How cute they are! They are just like yorkies except multicolored? I have never even heard of parti yorks....lol. I guess I don't get out much. The pics ya'll sent are soo adorable... thanks. |
They are a yorkie(but, black, white and the gold)..I have a little boy, but, he's mostly the black and white...he has a tad bit of the gold on him, but I would have liked him to have had more.. |

Here's a few photos of my 2 parti yorkies, I also have 5 Parti gene carriers (two are only 9 days old). All are AKC registered. Parti colored yorkies have been around since the early days of the breed but up until 5 years ago, were not eligible for registration. After 2 breeders in California had numerous Parti and carrier litters and their parents DNAd, proving that the pups were by AKC registered traditional colored yorkies, did the AKC allow the Parti color to be registered. |
akc? If they are akc are people showing them in dog shows. I have never seen one in a show. |
AKC does not register Biewers and the Partis are disqualified from showing because their color is considered a fault. It sure is a pretty fault though.;) |

black and goldl hmmm... I though black and golds were good in the ring. I didn't hear about that. How can you tell the difference in gold and tan? My baby was black... but got into burs this summer and I have to shave all but her head and a tiny tiny saddle.... well all the fur that came back came back steele blue (I think... it is dark but blue looking). I don't know if she is considered tan or gold...lol. |

Sadly, Black and gold, Black and tan and Blue and Gold now fall into the same "off colored" catigory as the Parti's and chocolates. You can read more about the disqualification ruling at YTCA's site: http://ytca.org/mainview.htm |
