How can I protect her?HELP! | Hawks and Owls are predatory birds of prey. I should know.:( Last year, I had a beautiful little Yorkie named Tigger. He was battling kidney disease, and was extremely frail. I had nursed him, held him, loved him, hoping he would improve. We have a very secluded dog run on the side of our house. My babies only go in there to go potty, otherwise they are always inside. Tigger was snatched by a hawk in the few seconds it took for him to go outside to pee. The memory of this still haunts me, that he fought to hard to live, and that his life ended in such a brutal, unthinkable manner. Our dog run now has a permanent cover built over it - too late for my boy:(, but it still protects my precious girls.
So yes, take any and all precautions to protect your baby.
