Jewels is itchy My Jewels has been itching alot lately. In fact this just started. I checked her for fleas she didnt have any but we put flea preventative on her anyway. I havent changed he food or bathed her in anything new. Any ideas what it could be. She is going on 3 yrs old and hasnt had allergy problems before but could she be developing them now? |
Sounds like allergies possibly... Especially if you havent changed her food and she has been fine till recent - I would think that could be the prob... Have you spoken to your vet for any advice? |
Maybe because it's just recently gotten cold and her skin is dry? My two have been itchy within the last few days too. |
sounds like allergies to me..I got a print out from the vet the other day, you can give her 1 mg per pound of benadryl liquid every 8 hours, see if that helps |
My moms vet told her this was the worst year for allergies in dogs that he has ever seen.. |
It sounds like allergies. What are you feeding (even if you didn't just switch)? What parts of her body seem to be bothering her or is it everywhere? |
She eats Evangers moist and nutro hard. Shes seems to be itchy everywhere but I will watch her more closely to know better |
Oh I also homecook for her a couple days a week. Usually chicken rice and vegetables. Sometimes pasta |
I think its the weather. My chick just started itching like crazy...she has scabs all over because she just sits and itches for hours. IF it is dry skin...then i dont really have any advice. We went through this last winter too. Tried Missing Link and Fish oil...nothing helped too much until the weather warmed up. I hope someone else is able to help though... |
I think it's allergies too.. Bailey does this about twice a year.. and NOW is that time he's doing it..he's itching all time and rubbing on the couch and if you even touch his back by his rear end he is in HEAVEN. I've asked my vet and he said Benadryl every now and then on his food which does help it doesn't stop it, but it does help. |
I would tend to think it might be the weather, I get itchy this time of year myself. The heat is on and its dryer in the house. Maybe you could try a hot oil treatment? I really have no idea if that will help but it sounds soothing lo |
