I would be furious also. But you do have to admit she is still a sweetheart!:animal36 When i took Koda in last weekend i said the exact same thing. he had some mats that with no matter how much brushing they still came and they stayed. I told the groomer to cut him down to get them all out but leave it as long as possible. AND keep his face! . it was shocking at first but we now are really liking it. He is so soft;) Also a reason to stock up on clothes for him this winter:) She looks so sweet! |
She is still too cute !!! We have to keep Tye cut short because of his thick, unmanageable cotton coat.......there have been times it was too short and I was upset but it does grow back quickly. It is cool now, put a little shirt or something on her, doll her up - maybe that will get you through this tough time. She knows you love her and she doesn't blame you at all. She is an angel no matter what her hair do is :) |
Thanks to everyone again for your words of support. Everyone is toooo kind. I have tried everything on her that I had that would be warm & everything is toooo big for her with no hair. I am going to have to go find a few things that will work to keep her warm, she just shakes & shakes... I did have one shirt that fits her with no hair.... it was one that I had for sale in a thread that was to tight with hair, now fits her great. |
thats horrible, but shes working that bald look!!! |

I keep my two like this on purpose:laugh: They both HATE being brushed, so it's what works for us. She looks ADORABLE! I'd be upset too, though, since they didn't listen to what you wanted:mad: However, in the groomer's defense, it IS VERY HARD to hold these little ones still without hurting them. |
Aw, she's still cute, but I don't blame you for being mad! We just had a really bad experience at our groomer's too and then to top it off from the moment Vinnie got home he was sick, and then sick for 6 days, and i felt really awful because that meant he was sick for his 1st birthday (Halloween). |
she is still absolutely adorable. but i can understand you being so upset!! i was at petsmart yesterday and looking in at the grooming. there was a tiny yorkie there (turns out she was "morkie) she favored the yorkie the most. but the hair around her ears was pretty white. she had massive cotton coat. but she was beautiful. i sat there for a good 15 minutes watching her hair cut. it looked great at first...then she just wouldn't stop cutting around the face. it was almost all gone when i left. i wanted to wait for the owners to get there to see what they thought...but i had to leave. i would have died. i'm sorry you had to go through this. this is exactly why i cut maggie myself. it might not be perfect, but i can't get mad at anyone else if it gets messed up ;) the good news is that hair does grow back. and you can put some great christmas sweaters on her and still have BEAUTIFUL christmas pictures :) that's the good part about having them so short, the sweaters look even better :) |
I would be upset too... but she look at this way ... she is still so darn cute and she has her health... its hair it will grow back . |

I totally understand why you would be mad at not following simple instructions.... but still, look at her precious face, her eyes look so much bigger and more expressive now.. she is still Adorable!! |
Call me crazy but I really kind of like her new do.... She is still the cutest thing ever though and it will grow back. |
OMGOODNESS!!!! I know it's a hard mental adjustment to make when it's not how you have WANTED her hair, and you didn't ASK for it that short... ....but she's soooooooo cute!!!!! I LOVE yorkies with that cut!!! One of my girls I keep in longer hair, but Kiki is cotten-coated, and hers just never looked good. I finally cut her short, and will NEVER grow her out again....I think their faces look SO cute and puppyish this way!!!! |
I know how ya feel I wen to a local PETCO and they chopped my baby so much I literally thought they brought me out the wrong dog when I picked her up. It grew back quick though. Hopefully it will grow enough for your pics. Your baby is still so adorable. hugs |
aah she has an adorable face, dont feel alone , my new groomer cut mine all off too:rolleyes: it will grow back ! Have to say it is awsome to not have to brush them. And it gave me a good excuse to buy nightys;) |
I can understand your being upset. Who wouldn't be? Groomer's at times just don't listen. She looked beautiful before and she still looks beautiful. It is a shame the weather is getting colder. This couldn't happen in the summer, huh? Maybe jammies will keep her warm until her coat starts coming in again. That face is the cutest. She looks very proud of her new do. |
Awe she looks like a little muffin. |
2 Attachment(s) She is so cute but WOW she looks like a completely different dog. I've always kept Teddi shorter but one time she had to be shaved too and I freaked! I'll attach pics so you don't feel so bad! ;) |
I would have been very upset too. Especially since it takes the hair on the face the longest time to grow. But she is still so adorable!! She looks like a little puppy again, what a sweetie!! |
Awww...don't feel bad. I had to go through this twice. Once with Josie and just recently with Jojo  Josie's back to normal & Jojo's hair is actually growing pretty darn fast. She looks so adorable. The cuteness is all in the eyes. :D |
I have to say....she looks PRECIOUS both ways...it would have a been a nice summer cut...she will be chilly for a while...but geez is she ever cute!! Dawn |
i think the groomer was just being LAZY! she should have called before doing that to her wow |
I had the same thing happen to Duke when he had his summer cut. I asked them to shave his body, but to leave his face alone. Well, imagine my surprise when I went to pick him up and his entire face was shaved short as well. I was furious! He looked like a Chihuahua -- not that I have anything against Chihuahua's, but I just was not expecting him to look like that. As with any bad haircut that we would get, it is taking FOREVER for Duke's face to fill back in. |

Please stop bashing ALL groomers... Guys, please! You're breaking my heart!!! I am dog groomer and I do cringe when I hear that people can't talk to groomer, groomers don't listen, etc....I DO!!!! I will admit he did a bad job on the face, if she was so wiggly...hmmm, maybe she zigged and he zagged and it went shorter then he wnated??? But still not a good job. Search around for a groomer, on that goes to seminars (if they look at you like you have 3 heads back away slowly...), one with a portfoilo or pics on the wall of dogs they groomed. On super wiggly little ones I like to use only thinning shears, if we zig and zag and I snip in a wrong area easier to blend...or I like using my Wahl metal combs to get a nice face length and then use my thinners to soften the edges to look natural. Search and look hard and expect to pay good money for great service! There are some really wonderful groomers out there who do care if the owner is happy. I am known to call owners if I am unsure if they want ears tipped or not, etc. I want my customers to be HAPPY...happy customers come back:) She is still really cute!! |
I would've been mad too...but oh, she is still such a cutie pie!! I'm surprised her dog tags don't weigh her down. LOL |
She is still looks like a little doll, I love her face, but you have everyright to be mad..........I had a bad expenrience once with my poor maltese, they did a really bad job on him, never took him back to that groomer for sure |
She's still a doll :) And I really dont blame you for being upset, the possitive side: Her hair is going to grow back:thumbup: |
