I'm not sure, but I'm sure someone here can help you! :) |
At that age, she will not be more than 3 pounds full grown. That is pretty small. If you haven't had small dogs before, this is a great place to learn about them. They are very delicate and require a lot of special care. |
Different people say different things. Some think 6 months, 8 months, or even a year. Mine started tapering off at 6 months and didn't gain anymore weight at 8 months. |
Here is a chart from Kimberly's site (feminvstr) just click on the link below. By all accounts it seems to be very accurate. My pup is 2.7 lbs at 4 1/2 months and I thought he was small, next to yours he is positively monstrous!!!!!! Good luck with your puppy and welcome to YT. http://yorkiepassion.com/growthchart.htm Sorry, I thought you wanted to know how big puppy was going to get, not when they are fully grown. But good info on Kim's site anyway. |
Actually, I sorta misread your question. Puppy food is good for them until 10 months according to package directions. I would guess that is about full grown for Yorkies. She will be to small to have babies, you can check that with your vet, but I would probably plan to have her spayed, just wait a little longer than 6 months to do that, also due to her size. |
Hi and welcome, I saw the word 'teacup' and ducked for cover! :p wow your baby is really really small, Buddy is 4 months and weighs 7lb on my home scales and i think he looks small! congrats and dont forget to post some piccys if you can. |
As you are probably well aware of by now...teacup is merely a name that some breders use to get more momey for their pups..all yorkies are of the toy breed..you baby is extremely tiny and I would say would probably be 2-3lbs fully grown...good luck and welcome. Puppies that small often need alot of care because they are so fragile, what did the breeder say as far as size..and did you get to see mom and dad..they may provide soem input as well..post some pics!!!! |
Welcome to Yorkie talk. Everyone her is really nice and you will learn a lot about how to care for your new baby. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like. We love to help out when we can. |

LOL!!! Welcome to YT!!! |
HI congrats on your new baby!! I also have a tiny baby he will be 4 months old on July 2 and he just turned 2 lbs. exactly. I tried to look on that scale on that website and couldn't figure it out, so My guess my baby will get to be 3 lbs when full grown. or 3.5 |
Oh, my gosh! So tiny!!!! It definitely wouldn't be safe at our house. You gotta be tough to live here. :D |
My Gus is a little guy as well. Trying to guess how big your baby will get is only a guess. My breeder told me that Gus was going to be about 4 lbs. But he stood tiny. Any small dog is fragile. I wouldnt say they need more care then a 5,6,7, or 8 pounder. You do have to watch your step and look before you sit. Congrats on your new addition and welcome to YT. I have to add,,,,,,, My 2.5 lbs. baby was attacked by a 75 lbs. German Shepherd a month ago and survived!!! |
