I have a question I bought Mika from a reputable place, and I think she is very pretty BUT she's the biggest yorkie I have ever owned. She knocking on the door of 7 pounds, and she looks like she is all legs. She costed 1,500.00 and I was expecting to get a really good dog for that price. Is she ummmm how can I put this.... a good example of the breed??? |

7 lbs is within the standard, but it would depend on how much more she grows. Even if she is 7lbs or under, just the size doesn't necessarily make her a good rep. of the breed, there are so many other things to consider. |
well mine is 14 lbs, more to love and she's beautiful...they do have throw backs... |
How old is she? I know just how you feel, Abby is really really long for her size, and her ears are HUGE. I didnt know a whole lot about yorkies when I first bought her, and I also wondered if she was full yorkie. But after being a member of this site even for a short period of time, I realize that all yorkies are different, no matter how close to the breed standard. And now I LOVE Abby's "imperfections". |
Just another post by me about size. I paid close to what you paid for one of mine and she was supposed to be 3lbs. She is 6. You never really know what your going to get and you cant measure their love by lbs. My other one is 11 lbs. I love every lb of them |

7lbs and under is the standard for a yorkie. How can 7lbs be the biggest yorkie you've ever seen? i've seen a 20lb yorkie and a lot of 10-14lb ones. My Lacy is 7.5lbs full grown and is still a small dog. Yours will probably end up being 7.5-8lbs full grown, so only slightly over standard. |
my 6 month old is 10 lbs......and Im GLAD !!! He is a jumper, and I dont worry so much when he jumps from high places........he is VERY healthy ........i think the only reason I wanted a itty bitty dog was because they are cute, they can fit in little carriers, and the clothes are cute.....how crazy !!! His color is changing again..from silver back to black..... LETS SEE PICTURES !!! |

well lexi was supposed to be 6 lbs too, and shes 9 lbs. and i paid 2000 for her... and i love her to death |
