Is She a Puppy or Mentally Challenged? My Yorkie, Lily, seems perfectly normal at times and other times she will take off running like a wild animal! She nips at me constantly, not at my husband; what's up with that? She is 7 months old, but just does not seem to be taming down any at all. Can you believe that she jumps all baby gates! How do I control her? She is house trained (we haven't had any really cold/snow/ice yet) not sure how she is going to do with that. |
She sounds like a normal yorkie puppy to me and its great that she is potty trained because yorkies are hard to house train |
Hehehe. Riley learned how to jump the baby gates too. I was so afraid he would get hurt so I decided to take them down. Lol. Riley has his crazy moments. He will start at one end of the house and run to the other end over and over and over and over. Hes so funny. |
I agree, be happy she is housebroken already. That is huge for a yorkie. Taking off running like a wild animal is normal. I love when Gus does that. They make extra tall gates for jumpers and age will come her down. It took Gus three years but it did happen. He was super hyper. |
I love when Lucy gets the Zoomies :) She got them last night and I swear she would not leave the cats alone! |
Yep, in layman's terms, it's known as "Demented Puppy Syndrome". Zoomies is one of my favorite symptoms. It provides us with much entertainment:D. Just enjoy every crazy minute, lauren:) |

LOL The zoomies are all day here with molly, she is only 7 1/2 mths, so i know what you mean, my other 3 are much more laid back, but molly is a handful, always on the hunt for something, and wants to play nonstop:D |
I always thought Toby was the only one that could jump the gates.. well he doesn't actually jump he climbs them like a monkey.... |

Kalina never jumped the baby gate, she just ate her way right through it!! It was her way of saying she wanted to have full run of the house. And now she does, because she is completely trained at 7 months. She doesn't act nearly as crazy as your puppy but I think your puppy is normal. There are degrees of craziness with Yorkies. :) Enjoy your puppy!! |
Sounds like a puppy to me. Aubrey jumps over his gates, i just put them higher. Have you tried obedience training with her nipping at you?? Welcome to YT!! |

You need to have a can with change near you all the time, and when she goes to nip you shake it good and loud. It'll scare the poop out of her, and she will stop. |

Is she a puppy or mentally challenged 1 Attachment(s) Maybe both. Tricksie has a lot of energy and I trained her to a play pen, she is over a year old and never jumped out but when I leave her, I do worry that she might try it. I only put her in it when I leave because she chews up everything, have never left her more than 4 hours and she never has an accident in it. Have her trained to pee pads and she always has one in the pen but will wait until I get home. That is funny, "put penny's in the can", brings back memories from years ago when I had a maltipoo, she was the worst barker in the world when someone came to visit. My Mom came over one day and "Dallas" the maltipoo would not shut up so I started chasing her around the house shaking the can and my Mom told my sister that I was having a nervous break-down.:eyetearss |
