Hi Everyone,
I Am So Pissed At My Step Sis Now That I Have To Vent!! She Asked Me A Week Ago About How Much I Paid For My Babies Since She Wants To Get One For Her Son Who Is 2yrs Old For Xmas Present! I Told Her Puppies Are Not Toys And She Should Not Be Getting A Puppy For A 2 Yrs Old. Especially That Two Years Old Is Almost 50 Lb Boy. Well, She Didn't Listen And She Got One From God Knows Where Yesterday. She Asked Me All The Info On How To Take Care Of The Puppy. I Am So Worried About The Puppy..they Live In The Bronx And She Is On I Believe Top Unit Of Her Apt Building. She Has A 2 Yrs Old Kid. Her And Her Hubby Are Having Problems. I Just Have A Really Really Bad Feeling About This. The Puppy Is 3 Months Old And She Is About 4.5lb. I Am Sooo Upset Right Now. They Are Not Fit To Have A Puppy. They Have Trouble Taking Care Of Their Own Kid At Times To Begin With. She Saw Tumi And Gracie And Thinking That It's Easy To Just Have A Puppy Like A Toy. She Doesn't Know It's A Lot Of Work!!!! I Love My Babies And My Fiance Is A Great Daddy Who Loves Her Girls. My Step Sis Hubby Is Not The Greatest Pet Lover..they Also Have Financial Issues I Dunno If They Can Give Proper Care To The New Fur Baby! I Dunno What To Do. She Is A Stay At Home Person And Her Husband Is Not The Greatest Provider. My Parents Have To Still Give Them Money !

Just stand by and stay available and keep in constant touch. I'm betting in a few days your step sis is going to be ready to hand the puppy off to anyone who will take it! And you will be standing right there, ready and waiting! Fingers crossed for that outcome.

Wow, I hope that works out, because yorkies nip at you when they feel threatned. If the 2year old is pulling the tail or playing rough, some pups will bite.:( Just give her the best advice you can on taking care of the pup.

It's so hard to see situations like this when there isn't much you can do. I'm sure it makes you feel so helpless. Just remember that you did do everything you could do by warning her and now all you can do is offer advise. The only upside is it sounds like she might turn out to be a bigger girl which is good because it sound like she'll need any advantage in that house.

i hope so too. i am looking at my furbutts now and thinking i hope the new puppy get the same treatment from them. i doubt it. oh she asked me where she can get the "cage thing". i told her it is called crate!! i hope they are not gonna lock her up at all times. i only crate my furbutts at night to sleep in. and their crates are next to our bed. i hope they have the money and the time to take care of her. i would take the baby if she can't take care of her. my fiance is rolling his eyes. haha.

Help and Advise is all you can do, I understand your fustration though, my grandson is that age and theres no way he is ready for a puppy, mine love him , but they are happy when he goes by by, It sounds like she went and did it and now all you can do is support her, In a few days she will most likey rethink this and really need you;)

maybe tell her to buy a book on yorkies? she really should have researched beforehand though i hope the pup will be ok

Sounds like a disaster there. Hopefully by the grace of god things will be fine. It's silly for her to get a dog when they are not financially stable. Especially a toy dog that can run into some costly issues if they are not well bred. Plus god only know where she got the dog from. Go figure you need financial help but you have money to splurge on a puppy.

i know.all i can do is to be there for the puppy. I dunno how they can be so stupid. they think it's easy because they see the pics of my babies. both my fiance and i take care of them really well..we take them for long walks at the park,doggy play dates. we are also ready to take care of them if they ever need medical emergency. i don't think they have money for it.

Do you have any puppy care books you could send her way? She sounds like she just got it in her head that she wanted a puppy and so she got it without doing the research first. Just be their for her when she calls to ask the questions. I bet she soon realises she rushed into getting a puppy with having a 2 year old.

The bills and the patience level needed for these stinkers is immense. I hope that they can handle it. I dont' think it's bad to have a yorkie with a small child as I have a three year old and my son was two when I got lulu...it's about teaching the child. But the possible added stress on what is already stressful there and then splurging like that when you need a parental allowance is a bit rediculous.

Odds are the novelty of it will wear off and you better be ready because she will probably give you the puppy.

Wonder where she got the puppy? I blame the breeder for selling her the puppy for a 2 year old. If the breeder sold to her without any concern of where the pup was going then there are more puppies in bad situations. Ughhh!
