oh no! HELP!!!! So Oliver is going to be 2 years old in March and just recently he has started peeing on the carpet, the wood floor and attempting to pee on the brand new furniture my parents just bought! We have tried giving him more praise when he does his buisness outside, by saying good boy good boy, playing with him outside afterwards and giving him treats (usually one of the three). Just recently we have put the television downstairs in the basement (where dogs are not allowed due to new carpet and theater room furniture) and that is mostly where the family hangs out, so i dont know if he's peeing because he's mad at us or what. But the peeing was even before the television was moved downstairs. I need help what should i do??? any explanations? cause i cant think of any. |
Has he been neutered? Is he house broken? |
You might want to take him to the vet. He might have a urinary tract infection or some other underlying problem that's causing this behavior. Good luck. |
I would say it is because he is 2 years old and has reached maturity and is marking his territory. I have the same problem with my little Banjo. Sometimes even neutering doesn't help. |

Is he just going a little bit each time or a full spot? It sounds like a UTI. As for the vet charging $40 to try to get him to pee in a cup, that is silly. They could have taken the sample from him easily. Ellie's vet takes them from her for $11. |
Well, unless you're planning on using him to breed, he really should have been neutered..but, now that he's "marking his territory", it won't stop..you're probably going to have to resort to using belly bands...sorry! |

I was told, once they mature, and start lifting their legs, they don't stop..I know getting them neutered before they start, very seldom do they lift their legs..My old vet has a very good website, you can find out about the leg lifting, why to have them spayed/neutered, and actually about anything you can think of on his site..it's www.animalpetdoctor.com |
