Any solutions on digging ??? My little princess has started digging holes in the yard. My husband brought this to my attention and when I finall saw here her paws and little button nose where covered in dirt. She looked so cute but the dirt was every where and she keeps tracking it in the house and solutions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lisa |
I'm having the same problem. I live in apartment and Cody has recently started digging and making holes. And I can't afford to replace the grass when/if I ever move out. So it would be interesting to see what others think. help greatly appreciated. thanks! this is a great thread Original Poster |

I know that sounds goofy...I was told this by a trainer and it broke my golden retriever from digging in the yard. |
That won't work for me... Living in apartment I have to clean his poop up.. any other ideas I could use? |
I bought some plastic mesh, it's think with big holes like chicken wire, but plastic. I put it over the ground in the whole doggy yard. I secured it with the staple things you press into the ground to hold ground cloth. The grass grows right up through it and it becomes invisible. They can't dig through it and it doesn't rust and break. So far so good! I think I posted pictures of it in a thread a while back. If I can find it I will post the link. Hope this helps. |
I can't find where I posted before, but here is a link to where someone else used it on their railing and they posted pictures, too. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...lastic+mesh%22 This is the same stuff I used. |
Have to give this a try! Out of four dogs - just the one digs where ever she sees dirt. Most of the yard is gravel as we live in Phoenix and have drips running where we have plants. Would love to have a real flower bed just off the patio and am going to try the chicken wire fencing just under the level of the soil. A neighbor suggested this as well - with cutouts where the plantings were to be. Thanks for the suggestions. |
Put his harness and leash on him, take him outside to walk around and potty and not let him even start to dig!! |
