Thankful, So Thankful....I sewed I am so thankful that I was able to do some sewing, so appreciative of Jill (Prairie Bea's Breeder) I made some yorkie clothes for Jill's precious Little Bit and praying so much they will fit her. Yeppers Jill, she is getting a little denim dress, every gal loves her denim, I know I sure do :) I made a pair of Jammies, but was wondering if anyone can tell me how to down size a pattern? If I place the pattern pieces in copier and down size them in %'age, has anyone done that????? It has been so long since I have been able to sew and this is a prayer answered for me, thankful for the magnifier glasses, if my vision would only stay stable then I could get prescription glasses, I loved every minute of my sewing this weekend. Thank the Lord for his many, many blessings. Hugs, Patti and Jack Baby Blessing, Prairie Bea and Dollie Dae say yippee mommie gonna make lots of stuff for us now :happyboun :happyboun :happyboun |
Glad to hear you can take joy in something you have missed. |
Good for you Patti! Good for your babies too.:) I haven't ever tried downsizing one on the copier, so 'fraid I can't help you. Would you share the outcome though? I'd like to know how to do that. I can't think how that works. Good to see you posting. Hope you are doing OK up there in the mountains. |
how Wonderful Patti! I Hope We Get To See Pictures. I Don't Know How To Resize Patterns.i Hope Someone Can Help You. |
Here is what I've found works for my sizing - to downsize one size (or upsize for that matter) you need to go one inch smaller all the way around. I'm not sure what % that is, but I'd start at 20% and reduce by additional 5-10% and see what you get. |
Pictures 4 Attachment(s) I took pictures so will post them, sure hope they fit Little Bit, I really enjoyed making them for her. Thanks everyone and Jodie I will try that and let you all know how it worked on the down sizing. Have one more so I guess I will need to do another post after this one. I am sorry I didn't know how to rotate the pictures. Patti Thanks be to the Lord in providing me with the ability to sew once again. |

Hi Denise, Yes, I sewed for years, use to make all the kids clothes, my own and even Jack's dress pants when he was working, simply because he liked the fit. I hadn't been able to do a lot of things I use to since having the stroke, my vision has gotten to where I am able to use the magnifier glasses to do what little I can, however some days they just won't let me even with the magnifiers, my eye specialist said they still aren't stable to do prescription glasses, so I still have to wait for that. I did get snap and eyelit plier kit and put the size 15 snaps on the one little outfit. Has anyone had any problem using the size 16 snaps, the plier kit is suppose to but mine wouldn't work for that size? Worked beautifully on the size 15 which is fine for furbabies clothes :) Thanks again everyone, and thanks be to the Lord for his many, many blessings. Patti and Jack |
