What in the world is she doing? Susanah has been rubbing her face like crazy on her toy box all morning. First one side, then the other. There is nothing wrong with it that I can see. I've washed her face twice with warm water - thought maybe she had something in her fur. She's acting totally fine and Susanah-ish other than the face rubbing on the toy box. She'll eat, then go play, take a nap, play some more, rub her face, chase anything that moves, play, rub her face.... Any ideas what she is doing? |
Is the toybox new? She is "marking" it. Making it HERS! rubbing her scent on it so other dogs will know it belongs to her. Sonya |
It is the same toy box she has had since we brought her home. It does make sense that she is marking it as HERS though. She thinks everything in the world belongs to her and her alone. |

My 10 year old female shih tzu(was spayed before 6 mos) goes in the back yard(the whole acre) lifting her leg and marking everywhere out there..But, I'm wondering also if it could be allergies? |
i was also wondering about allergies. Layla does have allergies and when they are bad she will rub her face against the side of the couch. |
Cody rubs his face one side and the other on the carpet. he will eat and then rubs all over .. even after drinking water.. its something they usually do in the grass ... woller all over but he does it on the carpet! |

What about a sore tooth? |
Maybe she found out that it just plain old feels good! |
Could definitely be marking or maybe she feels too clean. I have to wash Lulu's linens right before I bathe her or the minute she is out of the sink and toweled dry she runs to the now dirty bedding and rolls all over it to get rid of the clean smell. They are such stinkers. Hoping that it's nothing more serious than that. |
