Knitting loom sweater pattern... Hi All, Walmart and Joannes both sell the Knifty Knitter round loom (not expensive), thay are a lot of fun, even my teen boys can make hats on them.... Here is the link to a sweater pattern that looks easy, but I recommend making a (human) hat as your first project if you have never used a loom before. It's really easy, give it a chance! http://www.mountainvineyard.org/lind...er_pattern.pdf Jenn |
That sweater is adorable! I'm not sure I could do that though, the directions seem complicated. Is it something you will understand once you actually have the loom? How much do you think it would cost to make a sweater like that? Thanks for sharing! |
Honestly, it's not complicated.. My boys from ages 9 to 14 easily picked it up. I was a little nervous when I first tried, but it is really simple, and the looms come with illustrated instructions for the basic stitch. A sweater would take less than a skein of yarn for a yorkie, and there are some super cute yarns out there. When I am done with my puppy sweater I will post pics. There is a website called www.chihuahua-people.com (just like YT) and there are many old threads about their knitting loom adventures and pictures of gorgeous sweaters that were made in an afternoon. That was my initial motivation to try, because they said it was so simple. Jenn |

The loom is very reasonable though. I might have to buy one. Is that the only tool you have to buy? Jenn, I can't wait to see your pictures! |

At Walmart or Joannes you can get a set of 4 looms with this little hook tool thingie and the instructions all in one "kit" for about 15 dollars and that's all you need! I'm starting with a basic yarn, but :D there are tons of fun furry yarns that I'm excited to try. I spent a whole night Googling for ideas and patterns a few weeks ago. The 4 looms are different sizes, it's really a bargain if you have several different sized pups and dogs.... Jenn |
