Brand New Member Hello Everyone, I am so excited about being a part of the Yorkie Talk Family!!! I can't wait to get to know all of you. I will be getting my very first Yorkie Baby on July 15th. I have named her Chloe Rose. She is only 4 weeks old and such a tiny little baby!!!! I just want to bring her home so she can be with Mom, Dad and Nikki, our 13 year old sweet Beagle girl. I know I will have so many questions to ask, and such sweet moments to share. Thanks for inviting me into your Yorkie Family. Joy, Nikki and Baby Chloe :aimeeyork |
Hi Joy 1. !!! Welcome to YorkieTalk and congrats on your upcoming adoption of Chloe Rose. What a beautiful name you have picked out for her! We look forward to hearing all about her arrival and seeing pics too! :p |
Hi and Welcome. You are definitely an experienced dog owner, 13 years! But as you will find on the boards, there is a lot of info about yorkies to be had here and we look forward to stories and pics about both your doggies! BTW, my friends are adopting a rescue beagle in the next weeks and they are pleased as punch to be bringing home such a wonderful breed. |
Welcome, welcome! You will love this place! It's a great friend and info bank! hehe! Have fun! Post often and post pictures! |
Thanks for the "welcome"!!!!!! Schatzie is adorable!!!!! Joy, Nikki and Baby Chloe |
Welcome Hi there Joy 1 - Deegan's mom here. I just recently became a newbie on the site too. I have had my little furbaby for 10 days now and things have been wonderful - I now have a perma smile! :) So your baby will be about 7 weeks old when you get him/her? Just try and be patient. Remeber good things come to those who wait. Because the you don't want to get the puppy too soon, it's best to be with mum at least 'til they are 7-8 weeks. Then you can have all the fun you want, which includes spending all your money on them like me. I've been shopping like crazy for my little guy. Custom dishes, bandana's, little t-shirts, toys, a bicycle basket (it looks cooler than it sounds), a puppy purse and today I bought a car booster seat for him so that he is at the height of the window while we are driving!! It's so cute, but my boyfriend thinks I am a loser now. Oh well - Since I'm not having any kids I have to spoil my furbaby, right? |

Joy, I forgot to ask, do you have any pics from her breeder or web site? I would dearly love to see you new little angel!!!!! |
Joy1, Welcome to YT. I am also a newbie(joined May, 2005). You will love it here, learn lots what to do and what not to do. A lot of members with lots of valuable information and resources to help each of us with our questions. I know you can't wait to have your baby. I waited for two weeks after I fell in love with him. My yorkie was eleven weeks yesterday. His name: General Patton. This is an exciting time for us. Please post pics. We would love to meet Chloe Rose. What a beautiful name! ~Bella, General Patton, & Maria~ |
Hi Joy, from Dennis & Lilly in the UK, good luck with your new treasure x |
Hi, welcome to YT..Please would you do your baby a favor and ask the breeder to keep that baby til at least 10 weeks preferably 12 weeks. At 7 weeks a baby is way too young to leave its mom and littermates. I am not criticizing and others will agree that you will have a better adjusted puppy if left with them to that later age... Enjoy your little one once you get it... |
Welcome, I am still very new here too, and I know you are excited about your pup and will learn alot from the people on this site, but I have to agree with whispersmom, That puppy should under no circumstances be leaving her litter until at least 10 weeks, though 12 is best, especially if it is a tiny one. There are very crucial socialization skills that will affect that puppy throughout it's lifetime if it's not given the time needed to develop. If your breeder is unaware of this, you may want to help educate them, and do some good for all the pups they produce, not just yours. |
welcome!!!!! |
Welcome to YT - you will learn so much here and feel like you are with family. Which is why some of the more experienced members are sharing with you about the need for the puppy to be with its mommy longer than 7 weeks. The people on here care deeply about Yorkies and the people who love them and want what will be best for your baby and you. Yorkies are different from many other breeds in this respect that the extra few weeks can make a world of difference between a happy, healthy, well adjusted baby and a puppy with health and other problems. I know you want that puppy as soon as possible, but now that you have the information on what is best for your baby, hopefully you will consider the advice of the experienced breeders and others on here before you decide. We're very happy to have you and can't wait to see pics of your furbaby whenever you get her. A beautiful name, by the way! Dana |
Hello and welcome to yorkie talk. Cloe Rose is a beautiful name. Good luck! |
Hi and welcome to YT! I am a new member too - I only joined a few days ago. But I have to say that everyone is so friendly and helpful! I've read a lot of posts and learned a lot too. I agree w/ Whisper's Mom, it would be better for your little one to stay w/ the breeder until she is a bit older. One of my friends (against my strong adivce) bought and bought home a Chihuahua that was only 6 weeks old - needless to say, she did not purchase her Chi from her responsible breeder. Anyway, her Chi got EXTREMELY sick. She spent over $2,000 at the vet to try and save the dog. It really had a terrible outcome because her Chi ended up getting a terrible eye infection (because she didn't finish having all of her proper shots and was too young to leave her mama) and had the vet had to remove her infected eye. This may seem like a rare case but it can happen - as well as other possible problems. Everyone on Yorkie Talk agrees that protecting our babies is our number 1 priority! So take care of your baby and she will return the love 100000000000 percent! Good luck! :p |
Hi and welcome to YT! I know you are so excited. It is well worth the wait!! |

Ms. Chloe Rose How exciting! I'm wiggling in my chair as if I myself were getting a new baby, lol although Simon would be having none of that! Can't wait to meet her, and welcome! Jeni |
Hi Joy... Thats my name too... :) Welcome to this Awesome group your gonna love it here.. Congratulations on your new baby cant wait to see her pictures.. |
Thank you for all the great advise. I agree on keeping baby with its mom until shes at least 10 weeks old, but I am in a situation where I'll probably have to get her at 7 or 8 weeks. I have spoken to my Vet. about this and he will be watching her very closely. Please just wish us the best. Is there anyone else who got their babies this young? Joy, Nikkie and Baby Chloe :aimeeyork :animal-sm |
